Hey everyone! :) I thought I'd post a cafe for today. This is a special "black and white" cafe, cos I did both the cafe banner in black and white, and also the collage :) Just wanted to make it very, unmistakably clear that I mean the "black and white" as referring to the colors of the pics only, and nothing else ;)

I also thought that along with this being a black and white cafe that it could also be a bit of a "music" cafe. I think my taste in music might seem a bit "sappy" to the majority so that's why I don't personally talk "much" about music I like, but anyway I put a few questions about music so feel free to answer them, pick a fave pic, both or neither if you prefer not to. It's all good here in the cafe. Hope you have a nice day! :)

Questions:
1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?
2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?
3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?
4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind :)

Ok, now I'll put my own answers to the questions ;) Oh and also, of those 6 pics in the collage, I love the black cat one (pic #1) the most. I love how it is laying on those satin sheets. I thought it was a good one to use as a "black and white" pic cos of the nice textures in it.

1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?
Dance, some pop, some soft rock, hard rock, latin and classical.

2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?
Country, metal, jazz and really sappy/sad kinds of love songs or whatever other kinds of songs like that. Ya I definitely am not a "I like all kinds of music" type, lol.

3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?

Singers: Gloria Estefan, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble (can't think of any others right now, I know there's more though lol)
Bands: ABBA, Journey, Boston, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, The Corrs, all I can think of right now sorry.

4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind :)

Personally grateful for this one here lol (yes, part of why I put it here for sure, of course, lol) cos talking about music/songs/bands just isn't really a thing I "do much" I guess. Anyway ya there is so much on my mind about so many bloody things at this point, it's kinda beyond overwhelming. It is just hard to "know where to begin" with it really. Just...feeling a lot of things. Sis will be moving quite far away in about a month from now, I am doing my best to "look forward" to the lunch I'll be having with my grandparents a week from today, still feeling a bit sick and now also feeling very unsettled/unsure about my only friend and whether to continue that friendship or not. It would completely break my heart to do that, but just wanting to do what will be best for both of us. Don't know what that is at this time. Just needing clarity about it I guess. Anyway hopefully I will figure out what to do about it soon.

Hi! Thanks for the tag @JMG
For the pics, I'm kind of drawn to the zebra because they're already normally black and white lol.

Questions:
1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?
Indie rock and alternative, plus a lot more smaller genres if I felt like breaking things down more.
2. Are there any types of music you really don't like? I try to find something I can appreciate about any genre, but I'm pickier about some than others. There is definitely some country I like, but not like "bro" type country. Some of the older stuff is great, and I like modern ones leaning more towards folk or Americana. Can be hard for me to find hip hop I like since I'm way more used to listening to music with singing instead of rapping, but I'm working on finding more that I do enjoy. A lot of the hip hop songs my former roommate listened to was various guys rapping about how rich or how gangster they were, and I didn't find it very interesting. I very often don't like the singing style used in a lot of jazz songs, but I enjoy instrumental jazz, particularly bebop. Some of the screechy noises in some types of dubstep (like what I know from Skrillex) are annoying and hurt my ears, but I have heard dubstep songs without those types of noises that I liked better.
3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs? I've put some below, and you can click the song titles to link to the song on Youtube. Hopefully I didn't mess any up because I'm too lazy to go back and check.
Favorite band is Pile. Would particularly recommend "Prom Song" and "Firewood".
One of my favorite songs ever is "Snitch Jacket" by Two Inch Astronaut but the band broke up.
I love the more recent project by Two Inch Astronaut's lead singer/guitarist, Mister Goblin. Will recommend "SFYL", "The Forgettery", and "Goodnight Sun"
Lately I've been really into "Random Rules" by Silver Jews and "Margaritas at the Mall" by Purple Mountains. RIP David Berman.
Jens Lekman. "Postcard #17"
The Magnetic Fields. "I Don't Want to Get Over You"
Someone who has become a friend through his music: Union Specific. "Anchorage Bay"
Could name so many more, but I'm getting tired and trying to go bed soon.
4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind :) I am trying to get to bed soon just to make sure I can catch my train to Philadelphia to meet up with my sister tomorrow, but I keep getting distracted lol.

Thank you loads for opening!

Questions:
1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?

i no longer have a favorite n love nearly all music. i have become more partial to some techno, beat n such because i listen to it often... forcefully... while my son is working on his DJ material and also when he is in the shower where the entire neighborhood can hear his music. Instead of getting annoyed, i have learned to embraced it.
2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?

Scream is difficult for me because i can no longer distinguish some of the sounds and words. Songs have a message, if i can't understand that message, either through the music or lyrics, a huge part is missing.
3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?

i have favorites in all genres, and find new favorites often. So i am unable to answer this one.

Right now, i am just grateful this is my last night working. i have 2 more day shifts to do still before i leave, however my nights are hopefully done for quite a while.

Thanks @JMG ! I like all the B&W pics, but the zebra comes to mind because some got loose in my area in a freak accident. One is still roaming the countryside, which naturally produced memes like Team Zebra, who don't want it caught 😂

1. What are some of your fave "types" of music? Most sorts, but on an individual-song basis (I like the saying "good music is good music").
2. Are there any types of music you really don't like? Not to be a snob, but for the most part, anything with multi-millions or billions of views or listens on online platforms. Maybe the commercialism rubs the wrong way.
3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?
Varies over time. Say, Jefferson Starship, Belinda Carlisle, VNV Nation, Ferry Corsten, LoveLive+Idolm@ster, ...
4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind :)
We shall see how it goes in the short term...

I like the black and white theme because it stands out. The first pic is nice because the cat looks regal :D

1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?
Classic rock, funk, R&B, reggae, jazz, electronic, but really I like all types.

2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?
I can't think of many that I particularly dislike.

3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?
Alice in Chains, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Steely Dan, Bob Marley, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder, Nirvana, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, just to name a few.

4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind :)

I'm going to get Chinese today with my mom and a family friend, and maybe shop a bit afterwards, so that should be fun.

My favourite picture inevitably has to be the void.

Winnie always wins any contest for my love, paws down. :D

1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?
Industrial metal, punk, jazz, rock, goblin-brained remixes, some pop. Whatever Patricia Taxxon's genre is...
...
is p̵̻̰͎̝͕̾s̷̮̰̟̱̜̖̊ỳ̴̡̡̡̼̤͌nc̷̼̰̮̩̪̍̏̎̈́͝ͅut̸̰̍̀͘r̸̛̤͎̪̹̗̰̈́̈̓ő̵̹̻n̷͉̟̠̥̋͛̈͑̎̾wṭ̶̫̾̐͂ĺ̶̨͔̖̟̰͜u̶͈̎͑̌ȧ̵̛̱̼̬̆͛̏̃an̶̯̠̹̜̊p̴̦͇̿͠h̸̯̿̽͛vb̵͖̗̫̺̼̈̐̅́͛͝ͅec̸͎̗̈̄̋͐̀́ė̷̺̕ a genre?

2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?
Very similar answer to @Baywasp. I don't like bro country. There are some types of country i like, especially dark country and swamp rock (is that still country?), but the moment it gets all "Got a beer in my beer and a Chevy in my truck" it loses me. :D And similarly, there's some great rap out there, but if it's just "i'm such a great rapper" or "Look how much money i have", it bores me.

3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?
Rammstein, Soft Play, Studio Killers, Patricia Taxxon, Miracle of Sound, and Neil Cicierega (the absolute gremlin that he is).

4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind :)
Main things on my mind are being psyched i'm now officially on a trans specialist therapist's waiting list, and that most of my ridiculously large batch of new Rimmel nail polish colours is due to get here today. *stars
