Hey thanks for the tag! Sorry I'm a little late to this one, hope everybody is a having a good weekend.
I like the b/w especially the trees and pic number 2. But it all looks well put together.

1. I like most music, but am partial to grunge from the 70s-90
2. Not a big fan of music from the 00s to now.
3. Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Violent Femmes, some of their lyrics are out there, but I like that.
4. The weather has finally gotten warmer and a little dryer, have taken the kids daycamping at the beach twice in a row. It's still chilly but they got in the water lol

I like #5. An imposing castle sitting atop an island overlooking a lake in the foreground, yet the further out you look, the grander the sight.

1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?

Mostly metal, like nu metal, melodic death, metalcore, and, recently, glam metal.

2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?

Anything slow.

3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?

Evanescence, Escape The Fate (with Ronnie Radke), Motionless in White, Atreyu, Falling in Reverse, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, et cetera.

4. Kind of a "free space" question here really, in case you don't feel like talking about music today. Feel free to talk about whatever you want here, I'm always curious to hear about "how people are doing, what they are up to" or whatever else might be on their mind

1 - favorite type of music - singer-songwriter, which focuses on lyrics and telling a story
My favorite is John Prine, but others might be more familiar with Leonard Cohen, Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen,
Joni Mitchell, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark

I like all types of music though, generally rock, pop, blues, country and jazz from the 1960s-1970s
I really liked the punk and new wave music of the late 1970s-1980s
I like Americana, grunge and alt from the 1990s

2- I dislike music that shows no creativity or spark

One of the things I liked about punk was that the current ideas of the 70s-80s were not as important, that a lot of inspiration
came from the 1950s-60s era, note The Stray Cats, or songs like the Clash remake of the early 60s hit "I Fought the Law".
The intent was to get back to when music could still have vitality and energy, even if the music was 3 chords and rowdy

3 - Favorite singers/bands or songs?

I really like the music of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers, both bands blended influences of blues, country, rock, folk

Bruised Orange, Angel from Montgomery, I Remember Everything. by John Prine, but actually his entire catalog is full of
thoughtful, gentle songs about the human condition, occasionally with humor,
Backstreets by Bruce Springsteen - my favorite, if I could only have one, a detailed cinematic look at love, betrayal. uneasy
reconciliation, but also Jungleland from the same album Born To Run
Brownsville Girl by Bob Dylan - an epic (11 minutes?) verbal movie, lyrically assisted by novelist Sam Shepard
Joni Mitchell, especially the earlier songs

1. I am a big fan of rock (and all its variants) prog rock, blues, r&b, jazz (old school mainly), big band, swing, country, alternative ('grunge' if you must, though I find the term oversimplified), Irish/Celtic, gospel, soul, funk, psychedelic rock...honestly, there's really not many forms I dislike, except..

2. Rap, hip-hop, disco, electronica, easy listening I can really do without...

3. Rush, Pink Floyd, The Who, Yes, Soundgarden, Tool, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Heart, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, B.Ö.C., Triumph, Iron Maiden, Metallica, The Chieftains, The Police, Love Spit Love, Dash Rip Rock, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Etta James, Otis Redding, Eve 6, Barenaked Ladies, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, Duke Ellington, Charlie 'Bird' Parker, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and the list could go for days so I'll stop....

Thanks for opening and the tag @JMG....sorry late to the cafe...I know I know about par for the course with me.

As to collage (great photos and love the comparison of color to b&w... I have to go with #6 as I do so miss snow now that am a flatlander and no longer living in the mountains.

I'm eclectic about music...I enjoy most music but since high school/ college haven't really been "into" any music in particular. At the moment I enjoy Zen radio as a way to start my day.

Questions:
1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?
I think I listen to more upbeat songs whether sad or happy. There are some really dark songs that has a very "happy" melody and rhythm. I play pop songs that are not so emotional for background noise while I'm studying or doing house chores. Emotional songs when I want to listen and feel the music.
2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?
I'm not into beat or tempo music except for instruments like orchestra then I can listen for a bit. I want to hear someone singing.
3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?
Listening to lisa because I really liked the ost of demon slayer anime. Seventeen kpop. I don't have time to listen to new songs anymore.

Just finished 3 weeks of school and I'm really glad that we have AC. I got an uncontrollable sweaty hands and it drips to my elbow. I'll stop there it's a bit disgusting lol So far so good. It's the time where you get closer to your classmates and I'm trying not to be too close yet. I tend to overshare just because someone talks to me. I mean I don't get to talk to people at all so I'm trying to control myself and just be less talkative. Have classes from seven am to six am plus an hour commute and it's good that I'm doing something with my time. Lots of time where I failed to communicate properly or be socially acceptable to my classmates so I have a lot of adjustments to do. I can't express myself clearly and even my teacher gets confused when I'm talking. I guess it's right on my mind and I can't do it the way that I'm thinking. Btw it's a school for automotive technicians, hopefully I can become a proper mechanic in time. I was also given the opportunity to take Japanese language lessons at the school where they can send you to Japan if you get high remarks. Parents told me to just try it but so far learning Japanese is harder than automotive classes lol It's only N5

Tysm MrB! 😃😃😃 That really means a lot to me, I am kinda the most shy/awkward about “naming specific songs” I like the most by singers/bands, I dunno why, I guess cos they kinda do reveal that there is pretty much “nothing” in the more “recent years” (think the most “recent” of all the songs I listed (about 30, yes I counted, looked like such a “long list” after so I’d just been curious, lol) was Addicted by Madonna which was still from about 10+ yrs ago now lol) that I am really “into” but to be fair, for the most part I don’t really go “looking” for new music/songs to listen to anyway. Oh I thought of yet MORE singers/bands and songs I like though (it’s actually fun trying to “think/remember” all of them, lol)

PS - Aw, no such thing as “late” to cafes as far as I’m concerned, certainly not to “mine” anyway lol I always say “Better late than never” for one thing lol, and also cos I consider my cafes to always be “open” for as long as people want them to be So it’s all good, truly, and like I said I really enjoyed reading all about the kinds of music everyone likes, and also those who talked about what is “new” with them too, always interested in hearing about that as I know I already said in a previous post/reply lol

Great pictures and the black and white contrasts are wonderful. My favorite picture is the mom fox and her kit.

1. What are some of your fave "types" of music?

I am another that is typically listening to older music, mainly R&R and country from the 70s and into the 80s or so, but also like jazz, blues, classical and a pretty fair mix from those.

2. Are there any types of music you really don't like?

Can't think of any offhand.

3. What are your fave singers/bands/songs?

That can vary depending on what I have been listening. Here lately with R&R I have been listening to more Southern Rock: Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet and with country it has been more of the 70s Outlaw Country so Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, David Allan Coe, Johnny Cash. Plus add in Eagles, and Linda Ronstadt that both of those acts get airplay both country and rock, and a bit of Bob Seger.

Hello cafe, sorry Im late responding @JMG . The 5th pic of the castle on the island is my favourite. Though they're all good. I like black and white art and photos more than I thought I would.

eclectic mixture of so many types

Yep. I can't listen to country, can't listen to some classical like Wagner and other 'empire building' stuff

Hard to say, it's always changing. Lately I like old Greek folk songs and jazz without any singing.

It's been a strange time for me but I'm learning to be mindful and contemplating on the ephemeral nature of things, since what I have the most trouble with are emotions. JMG thank you again - so much - for the currawong picture. I'm making it into a painting for myself.
