Hey, ok a little bit longer than "shortly"....
....and now the Qs!
If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be and why?
New skill... would be "the friend making skill". That's one thing i was never able to learn. And that's the reason I recently started calling myself feral. I've come to realize that my upbringing was in a cult like environment where the family was very insular and led by my narcissistic and sociopathic father with an agenda he promoted in very manipulative ways by presenting as a progressive thinker; culturally, ethnically, racially aware and accepting; and using "fighting for human equality and rights" and "education" as a guise for his preditory ways. Add to that, being enabled by my abused mother who could only accept all that was done to her and her daughter and maybe her sons, in a hopeless effort to gain relief from her own father's abusive ways. In an environment like that learning social skills was not a priority. I became passively feral as a result. I really do wish I knew how to be a friend. That has been my life's failing - to have the feelings yet being unable to let them show and to enrich lives with mutual friendship. So it was no question that this is my answer to the question posed above. Sorry for allowing a bit of bitterness to be seen here as well. I only became aware enough in very recent years to be able to even think of this but nowadays I am on a healing path and that may be seen in my answer to the next question.
What skill do you think everyone should have?
The skill i believe everyone should have is the power of dandelions! The ability to persevere in the face of adversity. dandelions are the symbol of perseverance. They have strong roots and can adjust to situations and environments in order to flourish even in the face of hostility. Then they are nice too by providing benefits to us which serve to strenghten us and them. I fell in love with dandelions when i was very young and had only recently arrived on this challenging planet. I vividly recall one day sitting on the ground playing in the back yard and fascinating over this beautiful fragrant, quite large dandelion flower growing there, and thought about its beauty and strength. (I already knew how challenging to humans its roots are). That day dandelions became my hero. I really needed a source of strength; so yeah! Perseverance in the face of adversity is the skill i believe we all must have. That is the Power of Dandelions. My thanks to dandelions. 👩🦳
