hey thanks for the tag Classic. i have no favorite actors or actresses. i worked in a movie theatre many years ago in LA in the valley and well its easy to guess what would be walking in. back then.. farrah fawcett, telly savalas. who i remember at the moment. then in ny while i was still stupidly stuck in the same “career” i met james belishi. but what is meeting anyway? we did not have dinner together. we did not even discuss the front page of the LA or NY times. maybe not even a handshake though i did hand farrah a popcorn and maybe the same for telly. so why do i think i can be on a first name basis. did i meet them at all? wish i could have met glenda jackson back then. would have stopped everything for a conversation with her. now, talk about movies. i originally was hoping to go into cinematography in college. i had made my own movie. (here it is - the movie to talk about) it was an animation - stop action. it was fun. it was difficult and it did not get me into CalArts their first year as that school. it had been in (an)other form(s) prior. so my favorite movie is my own. and well i met a bunch of the people who made the totally unrealistic movie about folks like me. you know ET!
That's awesome you met Belushi and Farrah. Which one did you like meeting the best?

Hi everyone and thanks for the tag @ClassicShowsFan

I don't watch movies very much but some of my favourites are:
Avatar
Hacksaw Ridge
Lion
Kill Bill 1 & 2
Green Mile
50 First Dates
Dirty Dancing

I'm a bit embarrassed about the last 2 but they always bring a smile to my face :)

well in all honesty i was kind of snotty to james and regret it. but he’ll never know that i regret it. he was probably annoyed at the time. like who is this dumb .... talking to me like that? then i hate to admit it but i have this kind of narrow mindedness that at the time made me hate everyone associated with hollywood so i’m afraid i did not appreciate meeting people in those cases but looked with disdain instead. it wasn’t until years later when i heard of the human side of farrah that i came to question my own narrowmindedness. yes, i still look at much that comes out of hollywood with a bit of contempt and if not contempt at lease question. but i do realize that they are real people which once i didn’t. and like it or not, they must do what they are inspired or driven to do and i have no business looking down on anyone.

1. Shawshank Redemption
2. Pelican Brief
3. The Client
4. Lethal Weapon
5. The ABC Murders (with david Suchet)
6. Die Hard
7. The Last Samurai
8. Philadelphia with Tom Hanks
Some really good ones there bob :) but I've never seen (or even heard of) The ABC Murders.
Thanks Woo
Its feature length Poirot. If you like Poirot, you will love this one. But I know not evryone is as fanatical about Poirot as I am. Im not even sure David Suchet has watched himself in Poirot as often as I have.
Dirty Dancing is an amazing film, though not 100% my cup of tea. Green Mile was great too imo, though kind of sad ofc. I would like to see the Kill Bill films but not got round to yet. maybe soon.

As a teenager there was a theater that sowed all Humphrey Bogart films one summer...so saw them all but Casablanca still favorite by far...

Hello everybody, decided to have a look at Jim's cafe for today :). Regarding my favorite movies, I have many but the first ones that come on my mind are:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Red Violin
Amadeus
Sophie's Choice
Once Upon A Time in America.
Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet are my favorite actresses I think, not sure about actors :D
Unfortunately I haven't met any movie star BUT one of my best friends worked as assistant costume designer in Marie Antoinette movie by Sofia Coppola and she helped dressing Kirsten Dunst! Lucky her!
