Jim's cafe - Wed.Jan.5/22 (First cafe of 2022!) ;)

I think it can be good to reflect on the past year and think about what you want in the new year though.
That's my philosophy too @may71 .

Fun fact: The word for January comes from the Roman god Janus, the god of gates and doors who held the key to the metaphorical doors or gateways between what was and what is to come. Janus is depicted as having two faces: one looking forward; one looking backward. Hence, January.

Many Egyptians would be honoured and happy to have you visit our country, so feel free to come back whenever. It makes me happy that you were able to have a good time in my country and good interactions with its people!
That makes me want to travel to Egypt again. :) It would be even more awesome to expatriate to there. :) Ah, a girl can dream, yeah?!?! ;)

So sorry to hear you had Covid Auri, wow that sux. I'm glad to hear you say it in past tense though (aside from still coughing) and I hope the cough ends soon and that you feel back to yourself. The only good thing about being sick imo is when you are better again, for me omg it's just such a total relief. Always hoping to "never be sick again" of course lol, totally unrealistic but that doesn't stop me a single bit from wishing for it with all my might :p
Thank you, sweet Jmg. *hug

1. Do you make new years resolutions? If yes, what are some you have for this year?

I think I used to make resolutions every year, but haven't for a long time. I find the a little frustrating, because maybe there were too generic (lose weight, exercise more, etc.), and I was never super specific. The last couple of years have been really daunting, I just want to get through each day, so I haven't any real long term goals at the moment.

2. Did you do anything special for new years (ie go out somewhere to celebrate, to a party, etc...)?

My husband had a couple of his friends come over. It was OK. They are nice, but I'm 99% positive they tolerate me, but don't really like me.

3. Have you ever done anything special to celebrate new years?

When I was younger I always went to parties or gatherings. Always had fun, but I was reckless then.. I think I might have dome some questionable things all in the name of drinking too much.

4. What is something positive you are grateful for so far this year?

Grateful in 2022 already? Hmmm... I started group and we met last night. It was my 3rd session and I'm floored by how accepting they have been with me. It feels so good.

5. Do you have anything special planned this week and/or weekend? Or anything else you want to talk about?

No special plans. I'm feeling under the weather (allergies), so I'm hoping for some rest and to just be a bit lazy!

I'd love to visit as well... at least to see all the places from Stargate, maybe meet Ra, Apophis, and Anubis. Or at least see original drawings of them :)
I really relate a lot to Ra (The Sun God).

There is a lot of amazing art and antiquities in Egypt. I still have the coffee table art books I got before I took the trip.

Talking about this is making me want to go back there. ๐Ÿ˜

Questions:

1. Do you make new years resolutions? If yes, what are some you have for this year?

I love asking people what theirs is but I usually have none of my own. Come Christmas time I usually get in the spirit of wanting to change things in my life but come January first I get kinda....ehhhhhhhhhh lazy.

2. Did you do anything special for new years (ie go out somewhere to celebrate, to a party, etc...)?

Just went over to fri nds house . Got there around 5 and we were all dead in the water around 8pm. Not sure how we all made it to 12 lol but we did. Old age :)

3. Have you ever done anything special to celebrate new years?

I mean not really my family growing up used to have a party for any occasion so there was always lots opeople and stuff going on . Nothing really fantastical though

4. What is something positive you are grateful for so far this year?

5. Do you have anything special planned this week and/or weekend? Or anything else you want to talk about?

idk RC, to me the constraints of new year's resolutions easily stifle anyone's intentions. it makes sense for you (or me or anyone) to become "ehhhhhhhhhh lazy". but just looking at or remembering things you've said you do step aside from those constraints and take positive steps at other times. maybe new year's beginning should just be for celebration and skip the resolutions altogether and do the acts of positivity when more appropriate. maybe we should celebrate laziness at new year's time and not obligate ourselves and end up getting overwhelmed. IDK, just a thought at the moment. ๐Ÿ‘ฝ
