Might not graduate to the next year

#1
(hi, this is my first post here, i've been lurking for a little while.)
this is my main concern these days. i've struggled with suicidal ideation and mental disorders for years, and was doing relatively well for the first time in forever earlier this year. i don't know what i did wrong. suddenly assignments were coming faster than i could get out of bed and i was trying so hard to keep up. earlier this march my cat who i was very close to died early and suddenly on a sunday. i didn't go to school the next day. i went to classes each day after that, but i just stopped checking my assignments for the rest of the month. its april first, the years almost over. i have a 49% in english and a 53% in math. in case anyone couldn't tell these are not passing grades. over spring break i found what i needed to really dedicate me to completing pretty much whatever is assigned until the end of the year, but i don't think it'll be enough to pass. everything is just so much already. im trying really hard, but i don't think i can do this anymore if i don't pass.

Getting behind can be so very overwhelming. When there is a personal tragedy in your life at the same time, it makes things even more difficult. i am so very sorry to hear about your Fur-baby. i hope you are able to hold onto those wonderful memories and smile when you get small reminders.

One thing that might help is to talk to a guidance councilor at school about the issues you are facing. Let them know your desire to graduate and that you are finding you need extra help. That is why they are there. If a student takes the initiative to ask for help, i would believe they will be more willing to help. Different areas have different types of recovery classes. Everyone has issues in school. Some need a little extra help. i have 3 children. 2 of them needed to take extra on line classes to make up for the ones they didn't pass. Some they were able to knock out within a couple weeks. One of my kids needed to hang on an extra semester in school, however, was still able to be the same class year. Both of them had over 2 years of failed core classes to make up for.

Not trying to compare, because everyone is different. However, there just might be some extra things you could get or extra time to turn in some assignments for less credit, but enough to pass. It is worth to ask about.

I wish you luck and please don't give up!

i am extremely sorry,*shock i did not see that this was in a no advice wanted thread. :(
Please know i did not mean any disrespect.
no worries, i really appreciated your reply nonetheless. thank you for being so kind, i was a little worried about how posting would work. i am planning to talk to my teachers about it, anxiety be damned.
if it makes you feel any better, i mostly chose to post in this thread because it felt much less daunting haha. appreciate it

I'm sorry that you're going through this.

The grades you get now don't really matter that much. There's no goal that was within your reach that's out of your reach now. It's understandable that losing your cat has affected your grades, but one bad semester, or any level of poor academic performance, is not a reason to kill yourself.

You can bounce back, and we can try to help you do that.
