^ Just wanted to say, sorry that happened to you @seabird, you definitely didn’t deserve to have that said to you.
I’ve had similar messages said to me (not quite so directly like that, but definitely where the message was that it was preferred for me to be quiet instead of talk) by my dad and pure evil stepmonster. I’m glad I’ve always had a bit of a rebellious spirit, it’s helped me survive a lot of nonsense for sure

My heart aches.
I've heard of someþing called "Basic English," a controlled version of English allegedly meant to teach simple speech, and looked into it today since I clearly need to start over learning English.
Ðe author is a language-genocidal piece of shot! He outright says:
"Ðe world needs 1,000 more dead languages."
I want to learn English at its most basic roots, ac break ðæt! And forsake him!
Im not just morally upset, I'm grieving. I'll be angry, collapse, be glum for a while, ðen find a way to relearn English wiþout giving a penny to his legacy. Nor, if I can help it, to anyone who agrees wiþ him.

I'm glad you have a rebellious streak : ) and are (hopefully) staying safely above pleople who say this kind of thing.
I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling those things, I understand though cos I’ve felt those kinds of things about it too. It feels good to remember that I’m a far kinder, more compassionate person than either of them will ever be.
Thank you, I’m glad about that too for sure Ya that message was sent to me when I was a kid, thankfully not by them or anyone else these days though. Hopefully it will stay that way.
