Physical pain severity scale

I was part of a study years ago on perception & experience of pain and they hypothesized that people with high pain thresholds have built these practically titanium defenses in themselves against pain they felt in the early years of their lives. So as adults not very much causes us to feel pain. That's not to say we don't have our volcanic buttons though. Even though we might have low levels of interpersonal emotions, certain life events can trigger an explosion.

8, at times 9. Every f*cking month I think about mentioning it, but it's useless, and who cares about that, right? I want to kill this body. *grr

Got a day off anything on Friday, and yesterday was horrible again. Was lying on the floor from the pain. *nerves Then when it got better... I fell from the stairs. *facepalm I can't do anything with my arm, I really crushed it, but it's more like a 5. Manageable. I prefer that a million times more to the other pain. ^^ Anyways. :)

Got steroid back shot this afternoon. That hurt like dickens. Not the needle part! It was like 5 seconds after the needle was drawn when liquid was spreading. 7 or 8 like a repeat of someone punching me over and over again in the hip and kidney smh

Yep added more info to my back problem "oh yeah you also have pinched nerve" when looking closely to the xrays and was amazed I put up w this for almost 4 fucking years. Dude its the migraines I think that was worst pain ever not the back. The back is only temporary i am hit with it n just twist to have pain go away but with migraines theres nothing no twisting to make it go away

Offical diagnosis:

LUMBAR DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE
AND
LUMBAR SPINAL STENOSIS to the slew of long list whats wrong with me. I now feel like a 90 year old!

No thanks to that car accident

@DrownedFishOnFire Sounds like that was an awful accident. :/ I only had a minor car accident once and the seatbelt locking up was enough to mess up my left shoulder. I can't even with what you're going through right now. Is there anything that can be done?

I love that pain scale image and I've saved it. Want to share it with some social media groups that are trying to spread awareness about this sort of thing.

Today I was at the 5-6 level, but I seem to have finally calmed down to a 4 ish, which is why I'm being a chronic insomniac at the computer right now. My pain can vary anywhere from 3 to 7 in the same day, unpredictable as it is with this particular chronic illness. I'm grateful that I have only been at the 9 and 10 points rarely, maybe half a dozen times in my entire life. I know of people who have pain way worse than I do, like a herniated disc. Eeeeesh.

@eternum yeah was a high speed rear end accident. Plowed from the behind by a drunk driver it sucked recoverywise healing.

Yeah shoulder injury on your end ouch. Its a sensitive area too. Dont blame ya for saying its painful. It is indeed with little things like that. Nerves are plenty in that area.

except for pain spikes for a couple hours at night i'm back to an average of 4 to 5. i think it was the heat and humidity in july and august that made it a little worse...mike
