Hi all
In an ongoing On Top Of This series.
I pinched my finger on the right hand by the door on Thursday. After that I had hematoma and strong pain in my nail,
couldn't even sleep first night.
Even went to public hospital next morning, despite mother begging me not to do it because of corona risks.
But I really freaked out of all that pain, and was afraid that my nail would have to go off. I felt pain like 6-7,
and was really afraid that it was going to continue like that until the damaged part of the nail will go off. Groundlessly of course.
Visit to the hospital made me extremely sad. Doctor spoke so dryly, complained that it took me forever to take my X-ray
( I had to go to the second floor to radiology, then to the first floor to pay for X-ray, then back to the second floor to do the X-ray, then back to the first floor again. All this was too complicated for me with my knees tendinopathy, but I couldn't explain it to the doctor)
, and then complained that radiologist who took the x-ray screwed up
(The state of radiology was dire, shabby walls, old soviet-era X-ray apparatus which didn't work properly).
It wasn't all bad though. Interpreting his tongue-twister of prescriptions, I deduced that he meant it wasn't all that bad.
He wrote diagnose as bruise, and it looked like while it can be painful for a while, eventually pain will subside,
and nothing drastic as nail removal is needed (I didn’t ask and he didn’t mention it).
Also that morning started with strange story of a taxi that didn’t came. We waited for an hour in morning cold,
called taxi agency and they told us that apparently they already delivered us. Mother in her usual manner
started telling me that it’s a *sign* for us not to go, but I insisted on going anyway but without her
(as I wanted from the very beginning anyway).
Because of failure with taxi I decided to try public transport and was very surprised to discover that my achilles
actually healed enough that I didn’t need taxi, public transport was just fine. That was actually really good news.
I got to the hospital and back using public transport with minimal problems in my heels (more plantar fasciitis rather
than achilles tendinopathy).
All in all that was an eventful Friday morning.
Today is Saturday and pain in my nail subsided significantly, somewhere to about 2. Nail is still touchy and looks a bit creepy black but no longer bothers me.
Heh, I felt so lonely yesterday after that visit to the hospital and wanted to talk about it, but it took me more
then 24h to write this and I don’t feel as bad now. So...
