I read a book that said many general doctors know nothing about autoimmune disorders, so there's that as well.
Mate, from my experience that is practically a given fact. Some may have a special interest in areas such as diabetes, respiratory, dermatology etc. Hell I even know of one doc who specialises in pain management, but that's only because he can sweep up patients with whiplash injuries and rake in a bit of cash on the side. Anyways, despite their so called "special interests" they can still be pretty basic knowledge wise. In all my years working, I've only ever come across one doctor who clinically knows his shit inside out, and if he doesn't, then he'll have the balls to track down someone who does come what may.

For what it's worth, in my opinion I would suggest seeking out a rheumatologist as soon as. Goes without saying that they'll be more up to date in knowing how to manage your condition(s). Ideally, a multidisclipinary approach should be undertaken led by professionals who specialise in these areas. They can formulate a treatment strategy, monitoring schedule and feedback to your doctor for carry on treatment.

This guy works in east London. Unfortunately he only does a few hours here and there now. But if something is seriously wrong with you, then he's the dude you wan't batting on your side. This is how good the guy is, I had health issues about 6 years ago, regular doctors didn't have a clue as to what was going on. This guy walked in one evening where I worked, took one look at me with the words "you looked fucked boy" and in under 5 minutes correctly diagnosed what was wrong.

I imagine having to go through that process again will take some doing. Ok there can be a chance that you might get dissapointed, but on the other hand, there's also a chance that you may get better help than what you're currently getting.

this sounds an awful lot like the one I’ve got (pcp)- the one I’d told you about, whom was referred to by the ceo of the hospital t o my mom when working to-gether on the board (about being the smartest doctor he’d ever met!) ...too bad half the specialists he’s sent me to - u could train a monkey to do & I’d place a fair & safe bet to say I’d come out a billion times better ~but I’m not bitter; & neither to - should you! The odd s r in your favour ~~ ;)

If not already a saying, the quote should go "the coffee is bitter today" like a synonym to the "tea is scalding". and honestly it's bitter everyday for me. How is it going for you, at the doctors? any updates? feel free to private message me if you are more comfortable saying there.
Ahhh . . .😌! (I like both of those) ;^)
Well, what can I tell you—? I’d say the plane has nearly (or virtually?) crashed into the side of the mountain; but that would probably be a bit melodramatic! Don’t you think 🤔 ... 💭

I'd offer to send that doctor guy I know to both you and @the.end.ish . But he's kind or recovering from myeloma. Guy was told he had till October of last year to live, but it seems his carcass never got the memo. Goes to show I suppose, how in the face of adversity, the odds can be beaten.

talking about doctors i miss my old pcp. he was jut an old country doctor at heart. kindly old man that charged you what you could afford. i don't think he ever took insurance. he even came to make a house call back in 1980 when i was bedridden from exhaustion. he finally retired when he died. too bad there aren't any doctors like that around anymore...mike

9 - I’m drowning man. I’ve been at hospitals this week talking alot about PCOS management. Its a long wall of text cause I am indeed in tears. Aka being dramatic. 😂

I’m an emo mess and yet I’m greatful for somethings.... First, we now know that my mystery of OAB symptom is from PCOS and Mirebagron can help reduce that, plus I need to be aware of *period intervals* from now on as it could cause infection down under after what OAB brings which I’m having it now and given Cipro for it same time so when Cipro finish, continue Mirebagron. I don’t know how I can deal with the pain that I didn’t know I have as I’ve always thought that I’ve always taken abnormal period so lightly. Ugh... They can’t do surgery on me for pcos yet which I wish, as recurring infections is so annoying cause of the growth is still small but symptoms is so fucking huge.

I’m also have been given meds for HRT for when period went missing again to control ... While these are cleared, I’m being put on a strict exercise routine by my gynae of 150mins/week till next 6 months try and physiotherapy in Nov to fight for healthy wealth which another of pcos symptoms of stress eating & obesity and if I fail to do that, I have to be on diabetic meds/see dietician. Also, I’m glad that those aren’t my fault you fucking twat.

Thanks fuck for the right mental health meds though as Ritalin doesn’t cause/effect any of these unlike SSRI overlaps the symptoms last time and sadly, shall have to continue Ritalin daily for my ADHD and to reduce stresses from the hormonal imbalance cause I’m just an overactive person in general and combining with my genetic thyroid condition doesn’t help as fuck.

So many specialists and therapist for this, I really can’t.

Um, I’ve been crying so hard about my weight and that I have been so frustrated of how I have to be dependent on so many meds. While my friends are trying to cheer me up but you know, I still feel weak to my bones from it.

I am rambling..

Oh ya crap, speaking of, I have to reschedule appointment for HPV cause I forgot lol seeee so many time management to doooo...

i'm so sorry that you are going through so much right now. it's hard to deal with multiple health, pain, and mental health issues at once. you are very strong and i'm proud of you. i hope they can start making you feel better soon..mike...*console*sadhug*shake

i just wish i had people that suffer moderate to severe chronic pain that truly understands what it's like to have little or no hope for pain relief. know what it's like to call a 5 a good day. to know what it's like to fight suicidal thoughts almost every single night when a pain spike happens and i reach between 7 and 10 for a couple of hours. to sometimes want to stop the fighting and just plain give up. i have so many people here and irl that care so much for me but few truly understand. if anyone is like i described please inbox me, maybe we can help each other. and the really sad part is as bad as i am there are people who have it worse i can't comprehend how they survive...mike...:(
