pain management is more like an art form than a science. what works for one person sometimes doesn't work for another. i have a great doctor, he started with a lot of different meds that were non opioids first. but for me the last 20 + years i have had to use opioids. starting in 2016 , because of the cdc guidelines they started reducing my opioid meds. i'm only on about 25% of what i used to have, i used to have pain under control now a 5 is a good day and i have spikes every night between 7 and 10 for an hour or 2 usually.
now i'm on morphine, and hydro-morphone and a couple of years ago my doctor finally agreed to a mmj card. i told him it's better than raising my opioids so he agreed. he didn't believe in mmj but with my success with it he is changing his opinion.
pain meds including mmj is only one piece of the puzzle though. if a person can exercise and not push themselves too hard it can also reduce pain as well. i was stupid, i pushed myself too far trying to work on my 64 dodge. my wife put her foot down today though, she grounded me lol. and to be sure she put all of my pants in the wash, so unless i want to go out in my bday suit, i'm staying in today lol.
i do understand what living in pain is like so anytime you want to talk feel free to use my inbox. no person should suffer pain alone.
