My major complaint for the last few days is that the medical system is broken, and behavioral care (psychiatric or substance use) is even worse. They are making literally thousands of each individual patient and if they give us any attention at all, it usually makes things worse, whether it’s their intention or not.
Total scam but the people responsible can just say the patient is delusional if they dare to mention that they are not getting the care they need. You can lodge a complaint with the relevant regulatory agency, and even if they don’t ignore it, the most the regulatory staff will do is a brief walkthrough of the facility and conclude there is no evidence of wrongdoing. This is not speculation. I could give links to news articles from the local news here that this literally happened.
I was even a patient during the walkthrough, so I had a direct view of the inspection and the difference between the cleanliness of the place when I arrived vs the day before the walkthrough. I mean, I used to work in restaurants and there is a reason health inspectors don’t announce their arrival in advance. The fact that the hospital knew the date of the inspection is problematic.

Electric out AGAIN right now.. After less than 5 minutes of rain moving in. This is why so many older alone and sick people in this area of Texas die in the heat in summer. What if I was on oxygen or any other equipment for medical and life sustaining reasons on top of just being in a too hot environment. I’m so tired of it. And my landline is out because of it and my cell phone is only 50% charged. I feel like I live in a 3rd world country.
There’s been a boil water notice in place for the past couple of days for the MUD districts around here. And I only just found out about it this morning because someone last night posted about it in the area fb group.
I have no words for these service companies and them not taking care of communicating to the neighborhoods. It’s just annoying not to have Internet or tv. But it’s dangerous not to know the water is unsafe and you’ve been drinking it.🥲😡

This is a big deal and a big problem. My vet was out of Sam’s med this morning so they called it to a grocery pharmacy and I just picked it up. Sam has been on it for 2 years and the price has increased 50% this past year for the month’s supply. The human pharmacy just charged me 30% ($17) of the vet’s cost. I’m grateful to have the med for him. I’m angry and sad and baffled that the greed is in place.
Just like most insulins used to cost around $25 to $35 a bottle. Now it’s in the hundreds. Crazy country that can’t control the pharmaceutical industry 😡

Got excited for a minute this morning, first time seeing a possibility of connection with the Welcome page showing) Just a tease though, back to ground zero. There’s a lot being said about politically related delays in why the Houston area and certain companies are not reconnected to tv and internet yet (for those who have electric back in place…)🙃

Kind of reminds me of when TV stations went from how many were on the knob to switch channels so you had a handful and then early cable in the area went to a few dozen, back then the saying was 30 channels and nothing to watch and now it is hundreds of channels and nothing on, and then add in online. I seem to go back to the most simple things: fishing, carpentry, reading and star watching.
