Yeah, I can imagine that. Seems stifling and scary. *console
It's not fun. And apparently the plan is to let the fire burn out to the sea and hope it stops there, at least that's what I've heard. I've seen photos of the devastation and looks like something out of hell. I'll try to take a photo of the sky later and send it to you.

Hell is on Earth. And that's exactly it. Nature and innocent beings suffering. :(

It is sad but I'm more angry about the way it's being handled to be honest. The government doesn't care and aren't doing much to stop it. Just the firefighters and some charities. I can't say much more without it getting too political but yeah, it's not being handled well at all

i'm sorry to hear that. if their homes were in danger I bet they would do more. it's too bad they can't make wide breaks in the forest over time so if there were a wild fire it would be limited...mike

Yeah. Some people even think that they might've been the ones to start the fires since the burn radius seems to "coincidentally" be the same area the government wants to do some road or construction or something. Not sure I completely believe that but I'd be more surprised if it turned out to not be true. You'd think they'd do something like that but I guess not

it wouldn't surprise me if it were true. either the state or the contractor could have done it to lower the cost of construction....mike

Echo chamber, right? You surround yourself with others just like yourself to reinforce your own beliefs.. Seems more reasonable to get different viewpoints in order to challenge what you already think.
Exactly, you should always try to develop your own beliefs and views. You gotta think for yourself, let your own views be challenged. How can you be certain in what you think if you can't understand the other side?

Sending hugs

There was this guy I worked with for a while in my 20s. I loved talking to him because we could get into these really impassioned political discussions/debates/arguments without either of us ever making it personal. Like, no matter how fired up we'd get about whatever we were talking about, it still never turned to anger and we could go right back to lighter topics and being friendly at the drop of a hat.

It can be hard to find people like that, but very worthwhile.
