Tysm for tagging me & caring about my opinion on this matter @may71 I do appreciate it very much! 
And I think that's a great idea about the thread where you just post a link to the new cafe. It would make it easier to not have to go looking for it (I'm tagged quite often but sometimes I'm not, I try to just check for it every day but it would be cool to get an alert no matter what whenever there was a new one.
I think what some others said was good too, that maybe giving it a try & seeing how it works out might be a good way to do it. If it ends up making it so people don't post in it as much then it can be put back to the regular way or something like that. Whatever change ends up being made with it should maybe have a special announcement thread or something like that though, so that everyone knows what's going on with how the cafe's are going to be

I think the original idea of an eternal Jim's Cafe would work, but there are some folks who are objecting, so I'm less inclined to do it that way. I'd rather abandon an idea that might work quite well than risk creating any kind of rift in the community.
Yeah, I think that's the way to go. Once I figure out if there's a way for app users to watch threads without posting on them, I'll put something together

I think we could have an eternal chat thread in the coffee house, but maybe call it something other than Jim's Cafe.
Some folks here have some strong feelings about Jim's Cafe as an institution, but there's no reason not to start something completely independent and new.
The JC's have really been organized around a theme, but an eternal chat thread could be more free form.

Lol ya I only like the original 3 movies too, the rest aren't very good at all imo (I do like that Mark Hamill is at least in some of the newer ones again). I've seen most of them except Solo. My friend keeps saying I should watch it so then I can say I've seen them all but just don't really care about it lol.
I agree with what you said about the milking thing for sure too. It's too bad because they coulda done some really cool things with the newer ones & made the stories better and everything. My friend has some great ideas of how it all coulda been done a lot better, maybe someone will re-do them or do remakes of the newer ones someday, that'd be great I think

I don't often join in with Jim's cafe anymore because I find that with them being only active for a day at a time that the conversation is never able to go very far, so if I'm actually interested in whatever the day's theme is, it sucks that the thread sort of has an expiry date of <24 hours from whenever I first read it.
An eternal chat thread sounds nice, but if a bunch of people were using it at the same time it might get a bit muddled, haha. Even the actual chatroom here gets hard to keep up with at busy times.

What are we takin bout here man, “practice?!?” ; ) -Allen iverson (nba player, once upon a time..) ~*•> have not read entire thread - surprise/surprise! But, it really doesn’t matter to me. . 
I’m like the Hawaiian guy from the older Tokyo edition of Twrrace Hluse (circa 2016; the one that gabe us some epic gems w/natsumi & who was the guy that everybody balled their eyes out when he left? The architect who was going to try to get into Harvard? Anyways, among others - I still love Natusmi (if the new hubby & child don’t work out - “call me, may be! ” . . But I’m like Armsn; who , when asked repeatedly what his plans were I. N life by the Japanese house guest/ s (he was half Iranian , half Japanese, raised in Hawaii- so American), “I just sit here / or. By / & wait for a wave to come by... & if it does - I ride it... ahhhh!!!!!! They just all died with laughter (because I’m guessing that wa s a very anti Japanese way of looking at getting your life together in a philosophical sense. Also found it hilarious he managed to stay there for dang near the entire length of the show (whether that was like 3 season s / out of 4 for a given year. . . ) maybe the avg house guest stays a season. But even that can vary.. ~•*>^]_~*•) so, I’ve got no complaints with whatever anybody decides. . ;^) Alternatively, or rather recently, I was looking for an old thread started by an inactive member for a message left me by an active member. And I’m searching and I’m searching and I’m searching and I still can’t find it anywhere... then shania steps in (@shanka!) & finds it for me in like 5 seconds flat— of course I now have no clue where it is... because that was likely some months ago now - & I can t be bothered or knackered; but what I’d gotten distracted or sidetracked in one of my mini hunts, was a cafe from like June or something of 2014. And it was so great. I was so happily entertained that I started liking half the people’s posts, many of whom weren’t even here anymore participating, but I did wonder what those that were stil l around thought whe. N they saw id liked several of the cafe threads from way back when. Well no one said a single thing. So I guess there’s your answer! Ha-

@MisterBGone , most of what you said there doesn't make much sense to me. That's ok though as far as I'm concerned, as long as you don't mind that I'm just going to shrug sometimes when I read some of the posts of SF.

I did thus by makin a comparison, of analogy to a character, or person an then Netflix tv show (reality out of Japan), entitle terrace house. The person I was talking about was on there about three or four years ago, howeverC given that it is on the steaming platform, I thin I just saw it last year for the first time.
Anyway, he had a very “Hawaii n “ attitude and way of looking at life & things, and so it was in this spirit, or philosophy, I was trying to apply to my own in regards answering the question of do I have an opinion how the care proceds,
And then I talked about how I was showing old cafe threads from befor theat people were asking omankit in terms of or with respect to , how they used to be... & I came across one some months ago, while researching something else’ (94 for someone else / sorry can’t se what I type w/ friendly mobile chat sign like a blinder in front of your eyes when u drive— / and agai!c mostly was explaining that process & how one @shania, w hi also begs the Jim’s I believe, or the explanation behind the name, anyway, came to my rescue, when I was publicly complaining about my lack of attention deficit & distractibility, or the ability to be easily distracted - in other words, in my search for something else, somewhere else, I got hung up on an old cafe thread, which I’d post ad a link to. So, in a weird way, I tied to get her a member, a vintage cafe thread, an d my ideas going forward for it, along with my limitations (but self deprecation will only get you so far - when attempting to be funny - that is, not very!$
In short - my bad 🤗 next time, I’ll try to do better.
