Netflix. My wife loved that.. Thats her routine while our son is asleep :) it's really worth it. Don't really need that many friends offline nowadays.. we can enjoy life ourselves :) thanks.. hope you are having a good healthy day too
Netflix is the cure for my insomnia lol when I cannot sleep I turn on a series and it always puts me back to sleep, its soothing especially when watching a comedy. Nah we don't need that many friends offline, you're right about that but at the same time it would be nice to have some trusted close ones.
I am having a healthy day :) hope your day improves :)

Well...alas I gave in and so ate some chocolate :(.... and in reading about losing weight swimming realizing have to speed up my laps so that will be my challenge for the month...so guess have to start timing them which haven't been doing and checking heart rate etc etc...so will try to figure out how to do that without buying some expensive waterproof gizmo to help do that....hope all are having a good day....

I too love Netflix and have just discovered Amazon streaming...just watched documentary about the 100 day challenge to transform wild Mustangs into adoptable horses...

Wishing all a great day :)

I agree. I still do have my family to lean on, and few very close friends. More than that, i am exhausted.

I finally feel better, I think my tiredness was simply because I wasn't eating enough. Now I have a lot of pasta in my tum-tum and I feel better (-^_^-)
Tonight I will go bouldering again, I hope I will have enough strength :) I need more proteins I think, I should cook lentils or chickpeas instead of pasta ._. or maybe boulgour ! with a few red pepper it would be great I'm sure.

@Petal fantastic it seems you're on the right track ;) keep it up !

@Woowoo It seems that you don't need sport anymore since you run around all day haha !

@Kiwi2016 what do I read ? a Challenge ? Awesome *puts on karate band* ON FIRE ! I'm sure you will manage, don't worry too much for chocolate, it's good to indulge sometimes :)

So, I've not had a great day today.

On the plus side I've been rushing around at work again so have done about 13000 steps. I've also drunk quite a lot of water and green tea.

However, calorie wise I didn't do too well. For breakfast I only had a cappuccino and lunch was a chicken sandwich with some baked crisps so that was OK But it all went a bit wrong this evening because I had dinner with a colleague. I had chicken with coleslaw, saute mushrooms, corn on the cob and salad followed by a chocolate ice cream sundae. And I also had a large glass of wine.

I must do better tomorrow.

Thank you for tagging me... @Petal
With my spouse out of work, things are not happy here. Did I mention I didn't get a job I applied for, but I need to apply for others. I am trying to have a positive outlook for the two of us. I can depress my sense of impending doom and be somewhat cheerful.
I'm making good meals for us. I went to the cardio/strength training class.
I ate less low carb today. I had nuts with my afternoon coffee and ate a banana mashed with almond butter and a drop of no-sugar-added apple butter with lunch. If I could make that mixture look pretty, I'd sell it, but it was delicious. Oh well, full of fiber and nutrients.
Tonight will be a mildly carby chili with meat and beans.
@Woowoo I wish I could drink wine...my meds prohibit it. And wow! Getting those steps in.
@Patafikss what is bouldering? It sound challenging!
Hugs everyone! Tomorrow is a new day.

My goal is to lose 15 pounds. Currently I weigh 145 I would like to lose this by the beginning of December.
1. I want to stop snacking so much. I am a huge snacker(especially when I’m bored). Some days all I want to do is snack and I try to distract myself from food but fail to actually distract myself.
2. I want to workout 5 times a week for at least an hour each time.
3. I want to stop eating for pleasure and instead eat for fuel.
4. I don’t want to feel guilt after I eat.

I am incredibly good about eating healthy food. I just eat WAYYYY TOO MUCH!

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to stop food cravings? I’ve tried gum, coffee, walks, but everything so far has failed to take my attention away from food.

Also I envy people who forget to eat meals during the day:( sometimes I wish I could do that:((

@EZ Writer I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the job you applied for. With your spouse out of work it must be hard, but keep persevering. It sounds like you're doing really well with your healthy living. I saw a nutritionalist a while ago and she recommended nut butters and fruit butters. I didn't try them at the time because they were expensive, looked disgusting and I didn't really know what to have with them. Maybe I will try them now.

@pushing1through welcome to our little weight loss /healthy living group. I'm one of those lucky people that can forget to eat during the day, but I often make up for it in the evenings when I have nothing to do. Reducing cravings is a difficult one. I find drinking helps. I don't drink enough and often mistake thirst for hunger. Otherwise, it's doing something to take your mind off of it. I sometimes find if I can into a good book I forget everything else. I'm sure others will have some ideas.

@Petal you can do better today. It will be ok.

Have a great day everyone :)

Last night was not so good due to medication related hunger, too much sweets too much ice cream. I must handle it better next time.

Remember that even when you eat more than you planned to, you are still a lovely and kind person. Im certain you will eventually get to the weight you want. But in meantime try not to be hard on yourself. Yesterday I was stressed beyond words (and with some good reasons). Pretty much all I did all day was eat and worry. I simply couldnt stop. I know how hard it can be when anxiety is through teh roof. We got a lot to deal with.

@Petal If sweets and ice cream are a recurrent problem to you, maybe you should consider not buying them ? I mean, it's stupid but if you don't have anything sweet to eat, you will naturally tend to go to healthier snacks. Since it's because of meds it's even more difficult :( On the one hand you could say "I need to resist" and on the other : "but it's because of the meds!". The problem is the final result : sweet or not sweet ? I acknowledge that this is very tricky for you :( Don't worry too much though, You'll do it :D When I'm craving for sweets, I found out that if you cut a banana in small slices and eat it very slowly, it's not too bad for the hunger problem :)

@EZ Writer this is bouldering :

It is basically a form of rock climbing. You are not attached, and you often have to go in weird positions to go up. It's a lot about finger grip/strength and about carefully positioning your body weight. It's not that intense physically because you mostly use your arms, and you use your legs as much as climbing stairs so it's not an incredible sport to lose weight ^^ Ah- this dude is NOT me. I mean I wish I was dashing like that x)
Also I'm sorry you didn't get the job. I'm sure that your determination will pay off and you'll end up with what you wanted :) Please have a good day

@pushing1through There was a video someone here posted about tricks that helps you to stop snacking.
In my opinion, the problem with eating too much is that you probably eat too quickly. That was my problem as well. You need to feel you stomach filling progressively, eating slowly and try to appreciate each piece of food.
I think that eating for pleasure is actually the best way to go. Also if I could give you another technique that I use : I prepare a decent portion and I let the rest in fridge, so that if I want more I would need to prepare it again, warm it up and all... That's such a hassle that I prefer to eat a small desert instead (like a yogurt) and in the end I don't feel like I didn't eat enough :)
Sorry for the long paragraph @_@ If someone can post again the video of this girl giving tips that would be awesome !

@Woowoo Ah come on, it was a special day, it's normal, you don't go out with a colleague :) You were totally right to simply enjoy it ! Good job for the water intake, keep it up ;)
Thank you Woowoo, Have a great day as well :)

Yesterday was awful for me haha, I ate an entire pizza on the evening, around 80-100g(dry) of pasta with 40g of sauce (Yes, I weighted it haha) and probably a dozen g of cheese (emmental) on top of it. I also had a chocolate bar (Lion) and it was actually terrible, it made me nauseous (it was the "white" variant, not a big fan apparently). But maybe with bouldering it was okay... Anyway, I feel a bit too full today now.
By the way, I slept very well for once, I didn't force myself to go to bed early or anything, I just woke up very early in perfect shape, I'm so glad... I put an alarm to wake me up "early". I was already at work when it rang ! Soooo satisfactory !

With that, I wish all of you to have a great day <3

My muscles got some rest the past 2 days... <(^__^)> Not much going on at the moment, I will do some fitness today again. I am still not sure about how much cardio vs weights I should be doing. Right now it's about 25% cardio, 75% weights at the gym. I am getting stronger for sure, condition/endurance is also improving.

I don't feel so tired all the time anymore, which used to be a bit of a problem for me (lack of energy).

I'm 98 kg right now, since I started doing fitness since 27 August I lost about 3 kg - but... I lost more of my body fat for sure, turning some of it into muscle weight.

Will continue with this life style. :)

It will be better and you're a wonderful person no matter what!

@Patafikss , now I'm reminded about water intake! Not so much today.
And thanks all, about the job search--I may have to start a thread in the job forum...I registered with an official state job search website. Uploading my resume was easy, but then I saw how ghastly my resume looked!
So I need to do all that again.
And in the middle of all of that, my credit card company called...but I got a huge charge refunded, and recognized all the rest of the activity.
Food okay--I worked early early and had a banana, string cheese and pepperoni for breakfast at my desk. Lunch was carby: toast with cheese and butter and I shared a chocolate chip cookie with my husband this afternoon. Dinner will be that chili with meat and beans.
Tomorrow will definitely be less carby. That's my aim, anyway. I didn't exercise today. Not sure of how to have fit it in, but...if the weather cooperates, I'll walk to work tomorrow. I have a mid-morning shift. If the weather doesn't cooperate, I'll just go walk around the track a bunch after my shift.

I had an OK day today. I drank quite a lot of water and green tea (probably about a lie and a half) and walked over 10000 steps.

Food wise, I had a cappuccino for breakfast jacket potato with chicken and salad for lunch and for dinner I had roast pork with 1 roast potato, carrots and leeks followed by a very small portion of creme brulee.

Thanks Petal. Sorry to hear you didn't have a good day. Meds playing havoc with your appetite again?
Yup, you're on the ball, they make me ravenous, i wish i didn't need them, i have talked to the doctor about it and we tried different meds but this is the only anti psychotic that works for me. I am going to try taking them earlier in the day.

Thanks hun :)
