Surgery updates

Came home Thursday afternoon, it's now Saturday morning here.
So far going OK. Less pressure in my head and the tension in my shoulders has gone. Also my overbite has gone, teeth now line up .
Hard to know at this stage what changes. I think my balance is better but won't know for a while, might be wish for thinking.
Thursday night I had a lot of pain which woke me up. Used the added pain meds I'd been given. I'm also on antibiotics because they tissues an iv in surgery so arm is swollen, red but starting to settle down.
Already restless and needing to be reminded I had major surgery and need to rest.

Things are going well thanks, making improvements daily. Tammy 🐱 is now eating from her bowl on the floor.
Scar has been irritated lately but doesn't seem hot to touch. It was three weeks on Tuesday since I had the operation, balance is improved, less pain, getting more movement back in my neck. Time will tell if other things have been a success. I'm still hopeful that it's fixed the blackouts, so far no dizzy spells or anything like that.

What a wonderful report. Yay! The nerves/skin from the incision cut are developing and maturing so it sounds about right that at the 3 weeks timeline for it to be irritated if it's not for an external reason.

Had my first gp doctors appointment since surgery today. He is very happy with my progress. Balance almost normal, no blackouts since surgery (touch wood), significantly less pain since surgery.
With all things taken in account discussed pain medication reduction. As of tonight I am no longer taking paracetamol. The other pain medication that I'm on is gabapentin 600mg morning and 900mg night time. So in a fortnight I can start very slowly reducing this too. To start with I'll be reducing night time dose on alternating night from 900mg to 600mg. Then in a fortnight after that the night time dose will be 600 mg.
Recording this here as I might continue my journey to recovery here.
I have also been given permission to start short walks . I don't plan on starting until the beginning of next week.
Permission was also granted for picking up more than 4kg so long as I don't strain. So the really exciting news is.......
I can now pick up Tammy cat
