I took a 3 hour car ride (twice!) the other night with smokers and I only wanted to kill them for one for a couple minutes in those initial few minutes. (And that was while they were OFFERING me fags from the pack. well, thanks for your support assholes) Anyway, I don't know how long it's been but I don't feel like this is a precarious situation. I could fall back into it so so easily given the chance - but the motivator keeps me away easily and I'm not really tempted 99.99% of the time. I don't even think about it every day anymore I don't think. (I'm somewhere around month 5)
Oh, look, the start date of this thread is October 1st and I'm whining about being 24 hours in. I never did start again. I just ... quit. So I guess at this point I am on a little more than 4 months. And that's just barely cause I did vape for 2 weeks on the end of that. sheesh It seems like soooo much longer! Good god, I want to smoke suddenly.
I caved in and had one the other day. It's been so hideous this week and I was going to buy a packet. So I thought if I bummed one off someone it will only be one rather than a whole pack. So I did and I smoked it and I enjoyed it. But it made me feel really sick afterwards.
Ok time to fess up. I drank last night and then bought a pack after. Smoked like 6 then threw out the rest. Smoking is not my only problem. Idiot. I hate myself sometimes. I'll try again. Fuck

At least you're not alone in the naughty corner.. must admit, I know I'd really struggle not to cave in if I had a few drinks too. I don't really drink at home, don't know why, just never really have and seeing as I'm a bit reclusive at the moment I haven't been in a situation where I've been drinking with friends which has been really helpful.
Every time I get to 2 months I screw it up. A few notes for those interested:
After a few months of healing and smoking a few cigarettes:
- throat feels sore again and woke up feeling harder to swallow
-I used to get sharp heart pain sometimes and basically it stopped mostly after a month of no smoking. However since I slipped I have had that sharp pain a few times.
-tried a run yesterday and it was harder.
Ok...so just had to vent/rant as really really really want a cigarette ..... AARRGGGHHHH!!! But did manage to drive home and not to store to buy a pack....just upped stress/demands at moment so intellectually know that is the reason. Have been a non-smoker for 63 days...so don't want to backslide...and ate some Belvita's as a "reward" for not giving in....but still really want one...

Well done for not giving in
I spent the entire weekend last weekend smoking. I firmly blame @Walker as it was the stress of meeting him that drove me to it Back on track this week..

Ok so on feb 9 I think it was I smoked and then did again on feb 15 and 16. That was the last time. Luckily I haven't gotten fully addicted again because I know that could have easily happened from past quits. I think I have been pretty focused on improving my running and working out lately so this has beena huge motivator to not get addicted again. Also just getting tired of putting bad things into my body.

You are doing great just stay quit. That is the most important! I can tell you the first cig I got a decent buzz off of but the ones after did nothing for me. It's not worth it that little buzz so short like one minute then you are chasing that again and again; it NEVER satisfies.

@ravens know so well that you are so right...just seems like harder now than was earlier...but just a rough patch I know...so thanks for "pumping up my tires" as my father used to say....

first congradulations 63 days is a great achievement keep up the great work I know how hard it is. I quit 11 months ago (next month at a year i'll consider myself an ex smoker) I still want a cig so bad that I can almost taste it. everyone here says 1 could start me again so I don't and I think you should avoid that 1 cig. also it's not worth it. you should be proud of yourself it does get easier from here on keep up you strength you are awesome. mike
that's your decision and you shouldn't let anyone pressure you into it. I started smoking at 11 and quit at 61 of course I wish I quit earlier I kept trying bu couldn't make it. of course I now have severe copd I need oxygen an avap (passive ventilator) at night and only 49% lung capacity. I hope you decide to quit someday for your health but it's up to you. mike
Having one of those nights where i would gladly hand someone a full twenty, no questions asked, for a single cig. I hate getting that feeling, because somewhere inside me i know i probably wouldn't even enjoy it if i had it. But man, i want one.
