Hmmmm... Well I'm a classic case of trying to smoke now and then and failing miserably. I always seem to be able to give up for a few weeks and then think I'll just have one...
When I'm giving up I use nicotine replacement lozenges for the first couple of weeks and they seem to do the job. Maybe I need to use them for longer huh?
Have you thought about using a vape?

I only smoke menthol cigarettes and they're being banned in May so I'll have to give up then :)

I had to "quit" because I can't afford it...switching to vape wouldn't help much, and they don't even have the necessaries for it in my town, so I'd have to travel a lot (extra expense), lol. Nope.

all I can think of @someone123 is food would be a good replacement for a while if you're underweight. also try to do something that will keep your hands busy. something with yarn is best , although I haven't done it. woodworking or model building? the list is endless. that's all I have for now...mike...*hug

So...home alone, so had 3 smokes cuz' I can...
This makes me feel like a teenager again, hiding she's smoking...I actually burned the heck out of my room this way, being stupid and careless and hiding it smashed paper (lol...seriously? So dumb...) under my TV...Then went to the other room to play video games with headphones, and then smelled something funny...I went to the kicthen and saw this huge fire coming out of my room...went out, was totally "off" and knocked at my first door neighbour who then tried to put it out and also they called the fire department...I was so useless..just went outside then, like the rest of the people from the building had to...

...then took another smoke from this neighbour who offered, seeing i'm anxious...lol...did not really stop smoking..just learned my lesson in a way that, from then on I put it out with water...however, I had compulsive obsessive behaviour for a good while after that....especially if no one was home, and i couldn' sleep, and i started getting up and checking the trash can if I turned it of several times, by minute at one point, then by seconds, then It eventually got so bad I forced myself not to check (instead of just..you know...,,quit smoking?) and it was hard due to anxiety that thought brought...

...lol, felt like sharing this here. :)

You're telling me you just set your house on fire and that wasn't any sort of impetus to stop smoking? Is that really what you're saying? @someone123 If so then clearly nothing anyone says here is going to get you to stop. Might as well just give up and become a 2 pack a dayer. But do it outside for fucks sake. jesus fucking christ.

Why was that so negatively received? xD
I thought we weren't allowed to "judge", lol...but yeah...
It's not that it was negatively received or we're judging you, but setting your house on fire seems quite serious to most people (no matter your age). I understand that now you can laugh about it, but you know, we just read "she set her house on fire because of cigarettes". *scared There is indeed not much we could tell you to encourage you to stop smoking that would be more impactful that such an accident, from our point of view. LOL
No need to "never mention anything here again". ;)

You're right though, I didn't view it like that. I was off for over a month before...just then (years ago), it seemed way harder...Idk, but yeah. I just wanted to share the random story though.. the random story was random...didn't think it trough, lol.

You have the right to share your stories, it's okay. ^^

I do understand. will you at least ask yourself if you are ready on the end of every month. you can do it when you're ready so no hurry. and you did not let me down. you made it for a month or more which means you almost made it. you're getting closer you should be proud of yourself because i'm proud of you..mike...*hug

So today we had a meeting for our insurance. I’ve got 2 weeks to quit smoking or I pay an extra $50 every 2 weeks. So I guess that means I get to quit.
I really hope that this is a ''break'' for you, the break you needed to quit for good. Its obviously going to be great for your health as well as your pocket and your health is your wealth. Good luck Nick, I am here to support you if you need some :)

Its going to be tough but think of it as a blessing in disguise *hug
