I have mixed thoughts about quitting. Smoking is a coping mechanism for me. From a health perspective I need to quit. From a mental health perspective ... well that's probably a different story. Either way tomorrow is the day. I was going to wait until the weekend, but why wait? That's just my way of putting it off so I can talk myself out of it.

What are you using?
And also - great job - you can do this
I'm doing the patch program thing. We'll see how it goes.
Thanks. God it's harder than I thought. "I can quit anytime I want" I said ... what bullshit that is. What I wouldn't give for a good chain smoke about now.

OK, went shopping yesterday, I was only in 1 freaking store walking around and if I hadn't sat down I would have collapsed. I am over weight (by a lot), unfit and was chain smoking and I have asthma. I could tell yesterday that the asthma was the issue, my lungs were screaming at me physically, woke up this morning, head sore from coughing up phlegm, found it hard to walk to the store.

Plan of action for today was:

Took some pain killers.
Used inhaler.
Went back on my e-cig, the past has shown me my e-cig doesn't affect my lungs.

TODAY AND NOW I AM QUITTING FOREVER, the pack of cigs beside me I will give to a relative. I'm not even tempted to be honest, my lungs are THAT sore.

it is hard @Nick but you can do it. i smoked for 50 years and i quit. try not to worry about tomorrow or the next day week or month, think about not smoking today. your mind will tell you that you can't quit so you'll feed the habit again. but with your inner strength, temporary substitutes, and support you can do this. i found that after 2 weeks it isn't as bad. i believe in you...mike...*hug*shake

i have a stupid question: in the u.s. over 70,000 people die from overdoses every year and it's an epidemic a crises. but 480,000 people die from smoking a year and it's still legal. besides tobacco money why isn't smoking illegal if it causes almost 7 times more deaths?

Thanks so much sweet Auri, have to do this for my physical health and it does make a difference to my pocket and my lungs.

Thank you for the support 💖 Your health is your wealth.

smoke stop going terribly, chain smoking & no point giving up since i don't give a s**t what happens to this body that only serves to keep me entrapped in a world i'd rather not exist in anyway. why look after a body for which a life & mind is f**ked in anyway.

good luck to the rest of you

@BlackOpium clearly your country has failed to get the message about smoking. Holy hell. I’ve never seen so frigging many ppl smoking in my life. When I was a kid people smoked that much I guess but geez..... I was a bit horrified at the level of smoking there!!
