I'm on day 14 now and doing ok. I've bought a little disposable vape and have about 6 puffs a day (which works out nicotine wise as about 1 - 2 cigarettes). Next week I'll switch to the lozenges as I'm going on holiday and I don't think a vape would be socially acceptable there.

I know all too well how you feel....as the number of times I tried to quit before it "stuck" are so so many.
I'm not sure why but a combination of the following worked for me
1) called up the California I quit place - they called me daily and then spaced it out more...made me feel accountable but without IRL pressure
2) did adult coloring books whenever wanted a cigarette or my "normal times" e.g. after dinner, morning coffee--I did a lot of them needless to say--but since didn't replace with food didn't gain weight;
3) wore patches and gradated down (told myself would have very harmful effects if smoked while wearing patch)-off them now; 4) took Wellbutrin- off it now;
5) picked special day my husband's birthday but didn't tell him or anyone else; 5) started swimming every morning;.
6) realized money would save which was important due to resignation from job
7) put last empty pack on my desk...with date quit and made hash tag every night before went to bed. Still have that on my desk..

So haven't smoked since March 28th. But admit when couple moved back for winter behind us and they both smoke all the time is always a test...and glad had never smoked with them and had quit for several months before they came back.

So first don't beat yourself up as if I can do it anyone can....so sending you positive thoughts... and never hesitate to keep posting as you are in very good company

Spoonful of sugar will help the medicine go down
after smoking for over 20yrs I am finally nicotine free, honestly never thought this day would happen, so many times I tried to quit only to give it up on the third day. I did this for five years.
My house smells better, clothes smell like soap, hair smells like shampoo and the nicotine stains on my fingertips are almost gone. I can breath better, sing again, walk up a hill or staircase without feeling likek I am dying lol its no longer so embarassing to exert myself, and I no longer feel like such an old woman. These were the things I would remind myself of when I was tempted, deep breathing became my best friend. If you struggle don't give up, just keep trying and one day it will happen for you too.

Day 3 today - no cigarettes.

Just nicotine gum to help me get through...but one step at a time. As long as I don't have a cigarette in my mouth, I still consider it a win.

Supposedly, only the first 48 hours is when one is actually dealing with nicotine withdrawal. After that, I was told it's just a matter of habit.

Still, extremely tough to deal with. These are hands down the worst cravings I've ever had to deal with...worse than opiates, I would say. Only through constant prayer am I able to get through. God seems to be giving me the strength when I can't find it on my own.

Goodness, still, after 9 months?

Doesn't really surprise me, though. My mother said the same thing...she still had cravings too while she was pregnant with me and wasn't smoking.

How do you deal with that? Still having cravings even now?
