nothing. at least that is my sincere hope. if heaven and hell exist i know where i'll be. i don't have the will left to come back and live this life again. i truly hope it's just over.

Me too. This is something I am really afraid of. Not death but there being an afterlife. Though I do believe that energy "can't" die so if anything the energy of your atoms exists and moves into other forms (decomposition etc) but hopefully that is IT.

Unfortunately (for those who led "good" lives), or fortunately (for those who didn't), it should be exactly like it was before we were born; nothingness, with no memories, thoughts or existence of any kind. Seems kind of empty and makes life somewhat meaningless, but if we become a "spirit" or float around as some type of energy, that would mean that even an amoeba would have an afterlife and it would be kind of crowded (sorry for the sarcasm).
Very, very true. As Mark Twain, who was an atheist, said "Death does not frighten me. I was dead for centuries before I was born and I seem to have suffered no inconvenience from it."

I'm not sure and this is one of the reasons that stops me from suicide. What if you're punished in some way? What if you go to an even worse place you can't kill yourself to escape? Like the afterlife in His Dark Materials.

My ex last year said to me "When you die there's nothing, can you honestly tell me that's what you'd want" I said that would be amazing, I'd love it. She didn't even have words for how little she understood and just looked horrified.

I'm not afraid of death though, I don't even understand why a lot of people are, I guess they enjoy life more. Immortality would be my idea of torture, you're trapped here forever then. The thought of death being worse than life prevents me from choosing it, but if it happens on it's own then I look forward to finding out where I go.

I still believe that Heaven & Hell were created by humans in order to promise us a reward or a punishment for living a good/evil life (The stick & carrot approach)..

I hope there is no reincarnation as this incarnation has been so painful, I could not bear to repeat it..

I figure if I am buried in a shroud under a tree, my physical form will decay and feed something in order that it will live..As for the soul, well I will tell you from the other side when I have a definitive answer..

I'm honestly surprised there's no "I'll rot in the ground" option there. :P

But honestly, that is what I believe. I don't think anything happens when we die. We just die.

I think death is a pretty much lose-lose situation. I don't want to cease to exist, but I'll get tired of existing if it's forever. It seems like reincarnation is the best way to go, starting all over you know?

But just because I want it to be like that, doesn't mean it is, unfortunately. :/

Part of me is convinced there's something, another part of me is convinced there's nothing. lol It's confusing.
Heh, I feel the same way.

I think that's the brain's way of keeping us sane. Or, at least comforted enough to where we can concentrate on other things. Since we're aware of death, the more imaginitive part of our brains gives us the idea of an after life.

I saw that in a show somewhere. Though it makes me wonder if other animals believe in an afterlife, like apes. They're aware of death too...

Sorry, starting to ramble. XD

lol :)

Hm...I suppose I only believe in rebirth because death seems so final. I don't practice any religion so that has no influence on it, but I guess it's just easier to go through life believing that in the end it either means something or is never really the end.
