I haven’t watched anime since the penultimate of Steins;Gate 0, and the season finale of My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, and Tokyo Ghoul;re. Kizumonogatari Part 1-3 is finally available, but now the roles have effectively reversed: it’s like the Monogatari series is pining for my forthcoming viewership. Perhaps I’m daunted by the fast-paced, unforgiving intellectualism, and the cerebral receptivity that the series demands.

Afterwards, I should browse myanimelist for any highly rated seasonal anime because Netflix doesn’t cut it.

Okay, I just binged on Aggretsuko, which is on Netflix, and the main character is @Aurelia in essence.

@Cynic Goat, you’ll probably appreciate this comical anime as well based on your perceived leanings, assuming you haven’t already seen it.
Oh yeah, definitely, Aggretsuko is awesome! I love her as a character.

Plus i identify way too much with Haida in some ways. :L

Haida is endearing. In what ways do you identify with him so much if I may ask?
I think most of all it's because people don't really notice him much, they just expect him to get on with things and not make a fuss. So when it starts to explore his struggles, it's more like the show is expanding its focus from what the main character is going through, to show he has it just as bad, but doesn't have the same means to express it as Retsuko. For most of the show, it doesn't really explore what Haida is going through. It sort of mentions it, but doesn't really show how much it hurts him. Idk how to describe it much better than that, except to refer to a particular example from my life where a while after an intense argument, someone finally acknowledged that i had good reason to get as frustrated as i had, then literally tried to justify it by saying "I guess because you normally seem so happy and low-drama, it just seemed wrong and weird that you were getting angry, so we got upset and said harsh things defensively." My relation to Haida is quite complex in a way. Sorry for the crazy long answer. :L
How about you? Who would you say you felt a connection to on the show?

Ah. Yeah, one doesn’t really get to glean much from his troubles. He definitely had my attention as he’s the only one besides Retsuko who’s character exhibited any kind of profound hardship.

At this time of night, I can’t formulate a proper comment regarding your friend’s astoundingly superficial excuse for reacting that way without keeping you waiting.

As for me, I mean, I could only relate to Retsuko in that she submissively carries on with her diligent demeanor, and her only outlet for her anger is in solitude.

Yeah, i think he's the only other character that got to display a similar level of emotion and hardship to Retsuko.

Thank you, i still find it impressive that they saw that as a reasonable excuse.

It was definitely something i could relate to Retsuko on as well, to be sure.

Recently finished Re:Zero and Future Diary. I wouldn’t exactly put either on any all time favorites list or anything, but both were a fair bit better (and darker) than I had expected, and worth considering for anyone out there who might be looking for something to watch.

Just finished Erased. There seems to be some disagreement about the show’s quality, but I think that’s a matter of how you approach it. If you look at it as a mystery, it’s very flawed and I can see how viewers expecting that might be disappointed. But if you look at it as a character drama that uses the trappings of a mystery to tell its story, then it’s really legitimately excellent and I can’t recommend it enough. It really is one of the best I’ve seen in quite a while.

Hope nobody minds if I bump this thread every time I finish something that I think is worth recommending.
