hi coffee forums,

i switched my work schedule around a little bit for the new year. now working all day shifts instead of a combination of evening shifts and day shifts. this is the first week of the new schedule and I am quite tired adjusting to it. will be good once I get used to it though. i was starting to dislike the working until 9pm.

Cafe Monday Jan 7th

morning out there.. how's it going today??? i got bit more sleep than usual again this night so far.. johnny still sleeping peacefully.. not much i can think that will really have to get done today.. thinking bottom shelve in 3rd bedrrom clean up a bit and stick some of the all television seasons boxes of dvds on.. that will clear the floor and allow some mroe cleaning and organizing there.. little at a time is better than no activity..

resolutions of not buying much at all on amazon and itunes for couple of months.. until IRS is settled with and property taxes in end of march are kind of important first off.. this also means no more puters and tablets and etc.... got more htan enuf already jimbo!!!!!

little more music on ipad now. then some more of kindle book on ipad also.. hope is a good day for you.. tc, Jim and Johnny

G'day, all!

Jimk, hope your pitch and toss goes well. (Doing some myself. I never seem to be tough enough to do it thoroughly - a little bit of borderline hoarding there?!) As for Amazon jimk, maybe wean off it?...Allow yourself one purchase each week...Spend some time checking things out, make a list of "would likes" and have a budget "I will spend up to $__ and no more." And maybe consider the purchase as a really special treat because you're cutting back in general?

Dinner at sis's yesterday. Dad's lady friend joined us. Conversation was a rerun of Christmas dinner's "meat and dairy products are evil and bad for you...and of course we also covered the theme of how busy poor sis is at work and how hard it is for her. (If I said 25 words the whole evening, I'd be surprised.)

Got home, played and snuggled with Star (who always wants to know what I have to say and who always listens even if she doesn't agree :cat.

A few small errands today and then back home. Weather here is "warm" (January thaw) - well above freezing this week. Will need to get to a car wash when it gets a little colder. Car windows are "smudged over" with city grime at the moment. Ick. However, if that is the worst of my week, I'm doing really well! :lol!:

Happy Monday...not buying from Amazon is tough, Jim but staying on a budget is important (talking to myself too)...and Acy, glad it is warmer where you are...here it will get into the 50s by mid week which is so comfortable considering it is Jan...have a great day all and do snuggle with a warm person or furry...Marley is on my lap right now so I am getting my morning cuddles too

Jim, I agree with both Acy and J. Try to create a budget, and buy only 1 thing a week. You have your book on John Lennon... try not to buy anything until you have it finished. Just a thought.

Acy! I'm glad you got snuggles this morning! Grime on the car is ugly. Is it road salt?

J! Nice to see you in the Cafe again! Hope Marley gives you some good snuggles!

Tommy Tom was snuggling with me earlier, as well as now. He loves givin the snuggles!

afternoon everybody,

speaking of car washes, my own is in dire need of one as well. I was going to do it on the way home from work, passed three car wash outfits and all had multi car lineups. I suppose everyone else had the same idea. We had lots of snow, which was followed by a week of very cold weather, which was then followed by a week of warm, so all cars in the city are encrusted with a thin patina of gravel, salt, dust and mud.

Cafe Tuesday Jan 8th

morning ppl.. how's it going today??? i am halfway still between sleep and full consciousness atm.. is ok as takes less energy in this state.. moving slowly.. we need to do baths today so johnny will be lean for momma tonight.. also some amazon orders should show up today.. poor deluded me.. they are not going to make up for what i have never had.. not even close jimbo.l.

going to watch some more season 1 of homeland today on dvd... think this show increased great prasie at the emmy awards last year. agree it is really good.. going to try to remember to say goodbye to UPS driver today as i do not think going to use amazon or him for quite a while.. he is a very nice soul. feel like i need to cry sometime.. been avoiding this for 60 yrs and is way past time. afraid to just go there and feel everything.. maybe will talk to new therapist at apt wednesday about noon.. he does not really know much of me yet but tara's notes for previous 10 yrs are accessible to him.. time to put this away now.

back to music wiht a hot cup and marlboro on the couch.. am i even going to try to get some more sleep in a bit???? do not have that answer yet..

Good morning, all!

Star and I slept in again today. Does this mean sleep is going to be better on a regular basis from now on? (Hope so!) Still working my way through the meds change, and no real side effects from it since we dropped the new one.

I need to get my rear in gear and do a few things...bank, buy a calendar for 2013, and really, just get some exercise. It's way too easy to hide in my apartment with a sweet cat and a lot of books to read. :hiding: Will at least get to the bank today.

Jimk, I hope you and therapist can have a good talk about feelings you're holding in. :hug: Enjoy your dvd shows today! :smile:

Wow-- love what you did to the place Jim- the new Jukebox here is awesome and I like the new smoothie bar to go with the coffee staples.... funny how coffee bars and vegetable smoothies were both made popular on the west coast... I am thinking the extra caffeine from the coffee gave ample free sleepless nights to considers things such as vegetable juice merits and how to incorporate and oxygen bar into the same building as a fine cigar bar. The new plaid vinyl upholstery is a ...umm... retro look - did you choose that Jim or was it Alison?

Hi Acy and Ben..morning good ppl.. Cafe theme is mine..been doing a cafe thread for about 15 yrs now.. Sort of ingrained in me by now!!! Double shot of espresso please..

John up in middle of night couple of times.. Cajoled him back to room least time till about 4:30 till he just sort of said I am up for good dad..ok Johnny!!!! Time for coffee, Marlboro and some music..John truly is my life partner....

I am feeling blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah today. Voices are causing a ruckus this morning. Reminding me that I will never be free of them, and that I am worthless as long as they are around. It makes me quite sad.

The antidepressant reduction isn't helping. I've been sad for the last 2 days. It sucks.

Anyway, Tommy Tom says 'Heyroo!' while he is asleep on my lap.

Cafe Wednesday Jan 9th

morning good ppl... how you doing today???? john with momma and i seem to not be able to sleep tonight.. couple of hours at first then up and down every 15 minutes.. finally just gave it us and came out and started up the music.. chicago, genesis and journey so far... we maybe should not have taken the nap at 8am yesterday??? gee hope zoomies is sleeping for katie now.. she got more than enuf on her plate already.. my mind maybe thinking about therapy session today.. not worried about this at all i think.. geez been doing therapy for god awful forever.. is just another time most times.. every month and a half usually. just sort of a maintenance check rather than anything earth shaking... will ask new therapist brent how things are going here in his new possition???? take the temperature with him as to whether i am going to still have a therapist or not???? losing tara makes this kind of an issue with me..lol

i will wait till about 6 when i know dear nahawand is there at 711 and will car trip and get two gallons of milk from her.. not a whole bunch else on the gotta list for today..

too early for breakfast.. nahawand not yet at 711.. katie and john might still be sleeping.. wasn't that long ago when i talked to debbie on crisis line... just not much else i really can do now ...

Jimk and Sadeyes, I'm sorry sleep was elusive...I'm all too familiar with that feeling like hell during the day if I didn't sleep well. Hope you can get some good sleep tonight! :hug:

Got out yesterday and bought three 2013 calendars for less than $7 total. (I love the 75% off sales! Makes me feel like I'm a smart shopper.) One is my pocket calendar, one is for the den, and one is a gift. Today's task is to write in appointments and must-dos so I'm organized.

Not much else going on with me at the moment. I hope everyone has a happy Humpday! Do something that makes you smile! :smile:

Went to bed at 9:30 last night and woke up at 8:30. Will probably take nap at noon until 3. (I sleep in 3 hour shifts as far as naps go)

Tommy Tom is propped up against my left leg sleeping. Funny kitty. Don't know what I'd do without him. I would probably be in a much worse place.

Anyway, Tommy Tom just got up and is in the window now.

morning ppl.. how's it going today??? got some more sleep so far tonight than night before.. but still not enuf.. sort of in a funk now.. decided that therapy is just going to be one apt every 2 months. much more seems pretty pointless.. geez i miss tara..

thursday??? HUH not much on need to list today. cold and maybe bit of ice and snow on roads now.. maybe will compile a short grocery list and when roads seem clear we will hit safeway.. would love to hold the marlboro intake to a pack but odds seem to be against that..
