I finished my one-month chin-ups and push-up challenge today. Finally gosh it has been hard. I just went back and read my day two post of the challenge 28 days ago, there I say my max reps on chin-ups are 4 and that was hard, honestly, I cannot even remember that, now on average I hit 7, never less than 6, 5 if I am particularly lazy and I have managed a few 9s in a row, which honestly is kind of surprising. I have a habit of forgetting how far I travel, so actually damn from a max of 4 to 9 in one month. I am generally never proud of myself, but I think I might be now lol, gosh it was exhausting this past week, my abs, chest and arms have been crying out in pain so much. That just to mentally go to that bar has been mentally challenging but somehow I have done it and never skipped a day. Push-ups are kind of a different story, I have been doing them for years so I did not have as much room for improvement as chin-ups and for the last week I felt like my left arm has been in tremendous pain, but thankfully it has always been my weaker side, so to finish the challenge I have been mostly doing proto one arm push-ups on my other side, which I hope has kind of helped it catch up. I can do one-arm push-ups with my left, but not my right, I hope this has caught my right side up, but even saying as much instead of doing 20 reps at a time, the pain was really bad so I was doing 10 reps at a time sometimes even just 5. I know honestly I should have just stopped and I was playing with fire and injury, but no one believed I could do it, so I would have finished even if the arm snapped I would have pushed through. Maybe morbid and also incredibly stupid. But I am an idiot and I never quit. But it did not, thankfully, even though at the moment it is really painful. But I am going to take a one-week break before I start exercising again in a more normal fashion. But saying as much I do feel stronger, I think I look a lot stronger and I am going to rest until Friday and then test my new max pr's, sorry for the long post, but it has been a long month, 1200 chin ups even though two months I could not even do one and 1500 push ups.

Today was a rest day. Just a little 3.5 mile walk at the trail in a nearby forest. It was so cold 😵‍💫😛. Super pretty river and trees; though I have to admit I was looking forward to my bottle of hot tea waiting for me in the car.

I started again yesterday. One of the best parts about where I live is that there is a lot of natural beauty to be found (if you know where to look for it). I’d like to walk well enough that I can actually enjoy it again.

Right now, uneven ground presents a challenge. My street has a slight grade to it (very slight, maybe 5% at its steepest point) but I still feel that. Driveways are really hard.

There are areas I’ll probably never see again, I’ll stop before I depress myself more.

I tested my max chin ups today. After whole month of doing them every day. I manged 8 max (during the month I did hit 9 a few times) but I got someone to film it today. I don't lock out as much as I thought at the bottom and I swing my legs way more then I thought. It's still a big jump from where I was. But kind of feeling disappointed in myself. But I'll keep practicing to fix both those things

Got out for a 3.5 mile run.
My watch beeps at me when I'm waiting for vehicles on the busier roads & intersections. It's annoying to have to cross these. Maybe I'll research routes so I can do 5 or 6 miles in the neighborhoods. I need some new running shoes suited for these concrete sidewalks. Have to admit :( I miss running next to the ocean.

I miss running in the mountains by the ocean when I lived in Wales, so much 🥹 Maybe one day we will run by the ocean again 😀

Speaking of oceans, it feels like I just ran through the ocean, which is currently blowing across the UK. Very cold and wet but it helped a tiny bit with the most stressful week I've had in quite some time. Ran about 4 miles.

Did 5 miles run in the wind and rain. Saw a few bins that had blown about, some for sale signs ripped off but it's quietened down. After the main storm yesterday I did a quick visual inspection of my roof and it all seems intact, everything has held together, which is a huge relief. It might survive the winter yet!

I had a good, better than usual 2.75 mile run, cold afternoon but I managed to dress just warmly enough. I was feeling very down, prior to running and now feel a lot better.

Yes, that'd be wonderful. I miss running the hills while breathing the air by the sea.

Glad your run helped you feel better @seabird

I just did my - now becoming regular - Friday night running group and had a nice time. Somehow I was at the front of the pack and when we did hills I blasted up them and felt really good, but I've always been weird and like hills 🤣 Had a few nice chats as well, so I got my exercise and social fix for the day! Think we're doing fancy dress next week for Christmas 🎅 I hope I can keep managing not to book any meetings on Fridays into the new year!

9 Mile run, just before it got dark. Ran to the highest point for miles on the way out and got a view of the city skyline with the sun glinting off the glass in the distance, before coasting down all the way back. Slowed to a crawl by the end but got some segment PRs beating my 10 years younger self on one of the hills. Joint longest run of the year.
