Still walking with the weights. Progress is slow, but I think I’m lifting my foot a bit more when I walk without them. I‘ve increased the distance I walk a little but not much, maybe 750 yards, but I have increased the amount of weight I use and the length of time I wear them.

Right now “uneven terrain” refers to badly cracked sidewalks and perfectly average driveways, but I’m hoping to be able to do unpaved areas by summer.

Forced myself to get my running gear on and go to running group despite the cold and not feeling too well lately. Thought the exercise and socialising would do me good. Got there and it was deserted. Not a single person outside the meeting place (a pub) and only about 2 people and a dog drinking beer inside. I ran up and down waiting to see if anybody would turn up, but alas nobody did. So I did a little 5k on my lonesome then came home. There was ice earlier today but it was all gone, I assume they cancelled it because of that, but I do feel like a second class citizen not being on fucking Facebook as that's where they announce things (and it's an invite only group, so you can't just take a look to check if it's been cancelled or not). FFS. Didn't feel too well by the end of the run - a mixture of disappointment and whatever else is going on with me at the moment.

I'm glad you showed up and did the run, @AvidFan. I hope the cold 5k run helps to start pushing the cruddy feeling away.

I don't think you're a second class citizen. I'm not on baacefook either and so I can't be notified of pop-up runs of the group I'm interested in joining.

This evening was an easy 5k in a not too cold, light mist. If there was such a thing as heaven I bet running there would feel sort of like this.
Well done @seabird Hope to get out again soon but have been too ill to think about it - most of the time it's the best tonic, but that last 5k totally wiped me out and just can't risk it until I get some sleep and my balance comes back a bit 🥹

Had a walk out in the ice and cold, about 40 minutes. Took it out of me. Demonstrates just how much whatever is going on with me is impacting me, 2 weeks ago I was running 5 miles, a month ago I was running 9 miles, full of beans. Now I can barely walk 5k. At least I got out and tried.

Well done; it's harder to get out when it's icy cold, and especially when you know you're energy isn't great. I fully believe your running legs will come back @AvidFan .

I hope to get out later this afternoon after getting some work done.

I couldn't stand holding still anymore. Got dressed for a run and managed an easy 2.25 miles. I'm surprised but very pleased that I feel much better: wacky heart rhythm, dizziness, headache, nausea all gone.

So happy for you @seabird 😀 I can't say I feel better, but I did sleep for the first time in 10 days last night, without a cocktail of sleep aids. So maybe a run will be on the cards soon as part of my recovery! Maybe not today, in fact definitely not today because... ice. But soon!

I got out for a run, no rain just misty which I love so much. I'm still kind of wiped out from the vomiting and probably having lost a lot of electrolytes/water. Anyway I blame that for my pace being very slow today. 4.25 miles this morning.

Ugh, yikes @AvidFan good decision to stay away from ice. I've fallen on it many times luckily never broke anything. I have a pair of yaktrax which are annoying but stop you from slipping. I hope you feel better soon, 'great you slept.

Finally managed to get out for a little run. Managed 3.5 miles, took it very easy, 12 minute/mile plus pace. Heart worked a little harder than usual for the pace but at least I didn't start feeling woozy or fatigued. I was exhausted from walking the same amount of time on Wednesday so this has to be a good sign. Hopefully I won't feel myself wiped out later in the day but so far so good.

I really didn't feel like it, because it's cold and damp, which turned into a challenge to see if I could get out the door. Managed a run of 2.5 miles at an easy pace. I over-dressed but at least I wasn't cold.
