Went and ran for first time since last week's race wiped me out. Didn't feel too bad, in fact I took it easy but ended up getting 4 personal bests on various segments of the route, including a hill sprint. Didn't melt either. Turns out last week's race was actually a good training run πŸ˜‚

Phew, what a change from the week that was. After losing my mind half way through last week, and most of yesterday, today I felt calm and clearheaded. Went out for my now regular (done 3x) route down into the valley to the river, then blasted back up the hill and ran hard off the hill so did 4 miles and the last mile was the fastest (I'm usually half dead by the last mile so this is progress!). Just hope it boosts my metabolism and gives me some energy!!

4 miles with hill for second evening in a row. Nice sunny evening for it, varied running route with a different loop but still went down to the river and then ascended one of the hills. Thought I attacked it hard but was nowhere near my PB. Wait till I have fresh legs though πŸ˜‚

Went out planning to do 3-4 miles and just take it easy, took it very easy but my legs felt heavy and it felt like my heart just wasn't in it (literally, like it didn't want to beat any faster). After doing a hill and not enjoying it I abruptly decided to stop and walked the rest of the way home. Sure enough my heart monitor showed my heart wasn't getting up to its usual BPM, no idea what was going on, but I do struggle in warmer weather and it's 25C and humid, probably put it down to that.
