How Are You Feeling Right Now?

Sent my oldest daughter a text, saying happy 4th/250th and that i love and miss her. Also, that i have a birthday gift for the baby and that we could meet or I can give to her brother to get to her.

I know she'll choose the latter but I continue to try. Estrangement from one's child and grandchild is very hurtful but I keep trying.

Wry lol Broken. If only I could've gotten out of the abusive relationship without being broken in the process.
Yeah I feel that way more often than I like to admit. Not about abusive relationship, but other forms of abuse where I never thought I had any rights as just a human being. Right now I feel damaged, but not broken. I feel fully broken at times, though.

Really struggling right now. Last night something truly frightening happened that I can only imagine was too low blood pressure. I had a moment where I felt a head-rush similar to the way it feels when I stand up too abruptly. Only I had been standing for a minute or so, and the intensity blew my mind. All verbal thought was gone. The sensation that I should have fainted by now was taking up 100% of my attention, but I didn't even recognize it as such at the time. I'm not known for low BP except for the orthostatic hypotension. But this was way worse than standing up too quickly. My BP was too high until I got on a med for that and a tiny dose makes my BP really good at 120/80 or so. Sometimes the lower number gets into 50s, even. Also I suspect my BP is high right now because I can fell my pulse in my ears, hands, and chest.

I wonder if my poor self-care is catching up to me. My diet has been awful lately: lots of sugar, hardly any protein or complex carbs, occasionally fruit or a salad, but less than once each day. Oh and I don't chew my food all that much until I notice it. That's always been a challenge for me; chewing just seems like way too much work, even as a kid. At least I'm having hardly any caffeine at all.

Buuuut I suspect my body just can't manufacture the neurotransmitters when it doesn't have any amino acids to work with. Similar story for other nutrients, too. This would explain the forgetfulness, poor sleep quality, moodiness (I think), and digestion problems. I should probably have a steak today or something. I seriously feel better after getting about 100g of protein that is a mix of white and red meats. According to my research my gender would indicate that I can have 30g in a single sitting before the body just flushes it because it's out of the juices to digest it. So that would take 4-5 meals a day, and I can barely manage to hydrate.

I'm wandering/rambling all over the place today. I would proofread the above but I'd probably make it even worse, so this is going to have to do for now.

Paranoid! How fun. Cannot talk about this to anybody either because the situation is my fucking fault and I'm not exactly known for my brain, am I?
If the situation is your fault, it might not be paranoia, exactly. I had always thought paranoia was characterized by delusions that a certain person or group of people is trying to harm the person. Turns out that's not quite it after pulling up the criteria through a web search that returned DSM results. The delusory attacks are a symptom, but so is reluctance to confide in others (which you mentioned above).

This being said, I get that you might have a different meaning in mind than literally the DSM-V criteria. It sounds like you are in a lot of pain. I hope you can find some way to feel a little less awful.

I am feeling OK. Didn't think I'd be saying that after how I felt earlier this week. My nervous system right now seems stable and the insane wild mood swings have calmed down. Can't guarantee it won't happen again. But today was an OK day, and so was yesterday, despite the insomnia. I got 4 hours last night so was a good night πŸ˜‚ I'm going to go to bed and re-start Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach, which I started about 20 years ago, and recently found in a pile of books with the bookmark about half way through. I'll read a chapter, then some of my post apocalyptic nonsense, then sleep. 🀞

I appreciate your reply. You are right, I am still in a lot of pain. My medications are supposed to address paranoia(was told) I'm constantly obsessed with certain things that have never gone away completely.

It sounds like you're low on water and maybe hungry without realizing it. So your body sent you a clear message. Hope you are alright LumberJack.
It's hard if you've got variable appetite to get enough protein, let alone vitamins and minerals. I've only managed to commit to snacking plus 1 meal a day that has about 30 g to 40 or so, usually at mid-morning after a workout. It's subjective oc but started feeling hugely better at least physically (which helps me with emotional well being) when I began this disciplined approach. Also, much more recently I bought a square water pitcher with a airtight lid and keep it in the 'frig, filled with filtered water. Bormioli or something like that

Oh Tara Brach, be still my beating heart... I cannot say I've read that one, but I've listened to a lot of her recorded talks. Not so much re: acceptance, but rather on self-compassion, managing negative emotions, and compassion practice. You prolly already know about the RAIN technique, which is a practical application of self-compassion. If not, it's definitely worth checking out. It takes only minutes to learn but many lifetimes to master, lol.

There is a popular song from the 1990's - so yeah actually 30 years ago or so - which has a line saying, "I'm a million different people from one day to the next..." That's about how I feel right now. I'm feeling all the feelings - happy, sad, angry, joyous, awe, wonder, pain, fear, regret - but only one at a time. The intensity of the emotion varies over time, but it's more like severe to extreme, with occasional dips into moderate territory. I have a suspicion that last night's insomnia might have laid the foundation and right now my brain is doing maintenance that is affecting traffic. Also I'm sad. About everything.
Excuse the tangent, but what's the song?

I am feeling afraid. Afraid of cold, hard warnings. There's a book I found out about and got in the mail over a month ago, written by a guy who realized something similar to what I did - although his beliefs about how it works and whether we can change anything in it are different from mine - and his book is about that subject.

However, I used wikipedia, read the synopsis, and know his point will be a pessimistic one.

So I'm afraid to open the book. I'm thus feeling annoyed, at my fearful retiscence.

Yes. I did eat some food today because my nephew put together an impromptu grilled meat gathering. I hesitate to use the term BBQ, because it was just hamburgers & hot dogs. But it was good; we had some pico de gallo to throw on the hot dogs and some were wrapped in bacon. So really all I needed was some pinto beans and mayo to have a Sonoran dog. Close enough; I am able to walk upright now. Even though the food I ate would be a nutritionist's horror of horrors, the fact that I got any calories at all, and a bit of protein, too is better than what I had been doing.

I've been pounding water but even drinking as much as I can without waterboarding myself (just water to avoid anything diuretic), but the result is closer to orange Gatorade in color, and not all that much of it. So I must be sweating my brains out, but I don't notice because there is so little humidity you can get dehydrated just by the atmosphere pulling it from your skin. Moisturizer is not a luxury rn. Speaking of Gatorade I think I'll have a bit of that in case I've lost electrolytes.

Well done (pun intended) @LumberJack : )
OMG that is brilliant! ROFL *rofl

I agree about moisturizer, wonderful stuff and part of caring for self, but that's a separate topic. I get off on tangents rather easily and I know you understand about that.
I love tangents, as you already know. You should see how many words I end up deleting because I got so far out in Left Field that I had wandered off the ballpark. And by the way, what's the deal with baseball? j/k not going into that rn.
