Back on Team No Sleep after things had been improving for a few weeks. Went to sleep for a few hours but then woke up at 4.36am, could not go back to sleep, and eventually could not even lie still, had some mild RLS and had to keep shifting position and wriggling my toes and in the end it got unbearable trying to lie in bed, so I got up and made coffee well before 6am 😬

Up at 3.30 again. Seems to have become the pattern, lots on my mind with getting back to Big H and having major home repairs initiated. Also big life changes in other ways that keep energies fluctuating. Not to mention all the full moon energy right now. Guess it’s time to put on some music and chant🎶

Worse sleep ever. 3 hours only and have to work late tonight . Sometimes I wish id just fall asleep driving to work and crash into a tree or something and just die and be over with
I get frustrated and feel that too. Be safe. We like you being here. *grouphug2

Haven't been sleeping well. Of course, I didn't sleep in the hospital.
Tonight the post op pain woke me about 11:30 pm and its 3 am now.

Hospitals are for getting better, def not comfort! I hope the pain stays in good control so you can sleep & heal.

Did all the right things yesterday. Finished for the holidays in the week, so have been relaxing during the way and not fielding obligations. Went out for a 4.5 mile run, which should have signalled to my body I'd been active. I'd finished for the holidays in the week and had some wine, which definitely messed with my sleep a bit. I had a bottle in the fridge with one glass out of it, I took the bottle out of the fridge to warm to room temperature, then decided no, and put it back in the fridge. Started watching a show at midnight, then thought no, I'll get an early night. So went to bed. Went to sleep about 12.30am. Woke up at 2.54am. And that was that. Somehow lay in bed until 6.30 not sleeping, hoping against biology and experience that I'd nod off again (sometimes does happen). But it was one of those nights, and I rage quit bed at 6.30am. So here I am feeling dead to the world and will likely fall asleep on the sofa as soon as I try to enjoy something.

So I've been pretty miserable all day. Too tired to do much of anything. Didn't even leave the house for a walk. Could barely stay awake all day. Went to bed 2 hours ago. Still awake. Soon I'll have been awake for 24 hours. And no sleep in sight. This is messed up. Going to take a antihistamine sleep thing and hope for the best. Wish me luck.

You’ve had a miserable few days! I hope the antihistamine helps you rest.
good luck?

Thanks, it initiated sleep - for about an hour. Was awake on and off all night, managed to stay in bed, no way was I getting up for another wakefulness marathon. Ironically by 9am I was in some kind of unconscious state resembling extremly deep sleep but still woke up - feeling heavy, groggy, tired and pretty miserable. Over an hour later still feel pretty heavy and tired, maybe antihistamine hangover but I don't usually get that. It's like my body doesn't know whether to switch into deep sleep or be awake. Guess I'm awake for the day now for better or worse.

I'm in a terrible mood. The sleep I have been getting is all broken up into strange segments. I go to bed at almost the same time every night, the room is cool, I'm hydrated, I like my bed and love my pillow(s), etc., etc.: like all the sleep hygeine recommendations - I've been doing them.. It's what is going on in my mind that is messing up my rest. I don't belong in the middle of a vast city and suburb, I'm concerned about what humans have done to their own planet (how f*ing stupid we are) and there's no place to get away from it anymore. I seem to get a good sleep about once a week is all, since I have had to stop running for a while. I can't do this.

Sorry you are struggling @seabird. I also find myself worrying not only about my own stuff but also the entire fate of the planet and species 🤷

I managed to feel relatively OK after my weird night and the sleep inertia. I might experiment with being a night owl for a bit, as when I was nocturnal as a student (up till 7am, sleep till 3pm lol) I never really had any issue at all going to or staying asleep, which probably means I have a very weird chronotype. Along with my sensitive nervous system, I would probably have been a night sentinel if we were still living in nature/forests!

This is exactly what my sleep has been like too! Sometimes I dont know if I'm asleep or hallucinating in an unconscious state etc. Its bizarre. Im tossing and turning in bed until at least 4am until that drowsy state comes on. I'm back on amitriptyline because mirtazapine wasnt doing anything. It seems as though amitriptyline isnt doing much too. No idea what else to do as this point
