Hey everyone, hope you are all well.
Just thought I'd post another extremely popular cafe (lol) so here it is then.

Today's theme: BIRDS

Here's some facts and questions about them. Will post some pix too in a separate post. Hope everyone has a nice day :p

Interesting bird facts:

- Most common bird in the world is the domestic chicken
- Rarest bird is the Stresemann's Bristlefront
- There are over 10000 species of birds in the world
- A group of owls is called a parliament
- The country with the most birds is Colombia
- The country with the most beautiful birds (supposedly, matter of opinion ultimately of course) is Costa Rica
- The most beautiful bird in the world (according to google anyway) is the Bohemian Waxwing.
- Ostriches are one of the oldest bird species on earth

1. Do you like birds? If yes, what is your fave kind? And if no, why?
2. If you could be any bird you wanted, which one would you want to be?
3. Do you like watching/looking at birds?
4. If you were transformed into a bird, where would you fly to first?

I love birds, and there have been times I wished I could be one, as I don't believe birds get depressed. Maybe they do, but I have my doubts..
I have a hanging feeder on my back porch, and would like to get one of those clamp-on types for the front balcony. I get mostly sparrows and finches, but occasionally a cardinal or blue jay. Watching them gives me comfort when I am feeling low..


1. Do you like birds? If yes, what is your fave kind? And if no, why?

Hard to choose a favorite...maybe the pileated woodpecker?

They are really impressive, and we had one living in a hollow dead tree on our property when I still lived out in the country..

2. If you could be any bird you wanted, which one would you want to be?

Hmmm...another tough choice.. Maybe a kookaburra, since I've always wanted to visit Australia...plus that laughing call of theirs lol!


3. Do you like watching/looking at birds?

Yes, see above!

4. If you were transformed into a bird, where would you fly to first?

The nearest feeder lol...

Birds are cool. There is a really good YouTube channel called LesleytheBirdNerd. Really informative and entertaining bird videos!

YES YES YES!!!! One of my favorite birds is the African Grey Parrot, because they're good talkers. I would own one if they didn't live for around 80-90 years! Right now I own a cockatiel.

2. If you could be any bird you wanted, which one would you want to be?

Probably a cockatiel, so I could communicate with my bird, Madame Waffles.

3. Do you like watching/looking at birds?

Yes, but I don't need to go outside to do so, because I have a bird living in my house right now!

4. If you were transformed into a bird, where would you fly to first?

Hmm, maybe Africa!

This is my cockatiel, Madame Waffles. She's a very sweet bird who likes head scritches and eating popcorn. Whenever I leave the room, she starts calling for me to come back. She doesn't talk (cockatiels aren't very good talkers,) but she does whistle! She sits on my shoulder all day whenever I'm doing virtual school. She's the light of my life, and I love her so much. <3

My answers to the q's

Yes, love them, think they're very inspiring & interesting. Also kinda envious of them since they are able to fly and be so free with their wings & stuff.

2. If you could be any bird you wanted, which one would you want to be?
Probably a peacock cos then I'd get lots of attention for looking pretty lol

3. Do you like watching/looking at birds?
Yes, I think they're very interesting, beautiful and cool.

4. If you were transformed into a bird, where would you fly to first?
California, definitely. Lol :p Oh and also my sis's place and some other people's places to check out what they're up to, would be so much fun.

Guess I'll just talk about how I'm doing today which is worried cos physical pain problem is not over yet after all. Really hoping it will be soon, hate how it messes with my life on all levels cos of the stress, worry and uncertainty of it. Trying to be strong and focus on good things though. Already posted some bird pix above so I guess I don't have much else to say here for now then except hope everyone is well and that you have a great day!

Those are extremely adorable facts about her omg, too cute! If I was rich I'd definitely send you unlimited amounts of popcorn to give her so she'd always be able to have some when she wanted. Same to anyone else who wanted a lifetime supply of popcorn for that matter lol

Clearly I had to go get a photo of a Bohemian Waxwing since it's supposed to be the "most beautiful". Hmm.. not sure if I agree but here she is:

^ Lol aw ya I dunno if they did some kind of world vote poll or what to get the most beautiful bird title lol. Maybe it's just to do with the combination of features or the softness of it's face or something like that. I think all birds are beautiful in their own way, and I think it's so mean that "ugly duckling" is even a term cos every duckling I ever saw was utterly adorable & perfect Seems kinda mean to judge anything in nature as ugly really, don't like that word.
Anyway I think the most beautiful bird is the peacock and also swans but they are all cool in their own unique ways ❤ ❤ ❤

Yes. Favourite animal if I had to choose one.
Favourite bird? Tough choice...
Wild would be Snowy Owl.
Domestic would be geese, even though they’re assholes.

Crow, then I could understand what the pet crow I had 25 years ago was cawing about.

Watching, looking, talking to, photographing, playing with, yes I do!

I would fly over this madness and closed border confinement to visit someone I haven’t seen in four years.

I still wish sometimes that I could find my bird book that I left on a city bus when I was five.

Yes love birds...especially in the early morning when all are chirping, tweeting, singing to greet the day...and of course clearly have an affinity for kiwis and now flamingos...lol

I think it would be an African Gray....a friend of mine had one and there is also one where my mother in law lives...they have such distinct and impish personalities....and also great talkers to

3. Do you like watching/looking at birds?
Yes I do. One day when I retire I hope to be able to participate in an annual bird count and also a friend of mine helped care for injured hummingbirds which would be an interesting thing to do as well

4. If you were transformed into a bird, where would you fly to first?
I would fly along all the coasts of the continents...just to see the landscape from above and then a dip into the ocean...and a lazy few moments on the beach...

Nope. Birds are completely evil.

Nope. They make way to much noise and they are such bullies.

Yes yes kitty loves birds. Kitty supervises my kitties watching bird to make sure they won’t jump out of the window when they get excited to see so many birds fly together every morning. They’re so cute when they wag their tails 😺
