Jim's Cafe 27th April 2021 - Poetry Month

Welcome one and all to this
A Jim's Café you mustn't miss.
I tell you this post wasn't easy
but I hope it still sounds light and breezy.
You may be asking "why the rhyme"
it doesn't happen all the time
but this is a special time of year
to praise the poems that we hear
For the month of poetry is now
like every year, and this is how
i came to write no more in prose
but poetry that I compose.
I'll try to make this Jim's café
to keep the forms on yesterday
so I think the next thing I must do
I tell a few fun facts to you
oh yes i like
this poem flight
i’ll still be dreaming over night
to see a café such as this
i need to write a poem
i keep mine hid
so i can submit
to poet publications
but all it does
is distance me from friendly conversations
so here i try
to write one now
but maybe i just don’t know how
perhaps i’ll just be lucky and
see what brews with poetic hand
i thank you @Dante for inviting me
been feeling so poetic
but thirst comes first
and to stay awake
i now will get some coffee

I'll give it a go. I suck at poems though.. 
Withered dreams crumble beneath,
The desiccated thoughts of an abandoned heart,
Ghostly white fingers grasp at illusions,
Swaying to the screams of a fractured mind.
Fear births terror, madness spills over,
Broken shards line darkened eyes,
Lips sealed shut, promises broken,
Vacuous darkness battles anew.
Creeping doubt as resolve falters,
Rehydrating forgotten emotion,
Uncertainty grapples moments unwritten,
The monster subdued in this shackled soul.
Eh.. I tried..

3) And when last did you and friends meet, in winters chill or summer's heat? Uh, a couple weeks ago, I met my best friend and we sat on a bench opposite the park by his house. We chatted shit and spoke for a good long while. It was actually really nice to meet and talk for a while. It's one thing, I really appreciate in life, I just like to chat to my friends

2) What stories do you have to tell to help us get to know you well? Depends on the story I guess, for different reasons
3) What stories of friends do you hold, that bring good cheer when they are told? Best friends dad committed suicide, he barely talks about him, I remember once he was telling of when he was younger and a story of his dad having him over the weekend. It was just nice to hear.
4) What stories of a time alone, are worth becoming widely known? I'm not too sure.
5) What story lives within your soul, what brighter times does it extol? The search for a life of full smiles is ongoing and is currently in full force.

Well, I used to write poems in high school, when I was livelier, with less things to worry about. Most of the poems were lost when I moved, and they are all in my native language.

- There are always topics to talk about without the need to venture, because of internet. Yesterday, I talked about traveling with a friend, since I was reading a book about traveling.

- Without grabbing stranger on the street, you can make friends from public events, relationships, shared interests, common goals, etc. I mostly have new friends from relationships in workplaces, so I guess last month.
And when last did you and friends meet, in winters chill or summer's heat?
- It was in March, not really for any particular reason, just a group of old classmates met together at a restaurant. There is no winter chill in my city.

- A story from a manga called "Aqua" and "Aria": to find happiness in the smallest things in life. This shines through all moments in my life, though it would take a while to be as positive as the protagonist.

Just people doing good things for one another that always lifts my heart

I think everyone by now knows I stole a trampoline in my youth (I did return it)

We used to have Tuesday nights Spur, me, my sister, and our two friends used to hang out every Tuesday because it was two for one burger night, those are all so good memories.

When I am feeling down and I get a random message from someone saying hey. It always makes me smile knowing I am worth talking to because I honestly always feel like I mess up every interaction I do

I feel a little sad at this question, I have been sitting here for twenty minutes and I cannot think of one happy story from my life

1) What stories do you like to hear, to lift your heart or shed a tear?
My heart is lifted when I hear a story of triumph.
Over what would seem the tiniest of things.
These little tales of victory never cease to give me.
Much needed loving wind beneath my wings.
As for tears the story is the same.
For no victory comes without the pain.
2) What stories do you have to tell to help us get to know you well?
Once upon a time a lie was told.
The result is what masquerades as me.
Good intentions and dreams of picket fences.
Before you are the ashes of those dreams.
3) What stories of friends do you hold, that bring good cheer when they are told?
Stories of a goodness and grace.
Stories to pale my attempts.
Such goodness and grace.
Not seen before or since.
People to look up to.
People to put me in my place.
4) What stories of a time alone, are worth becoming widely known?
Time alone is illusion
Without human contact you must mean
Wherever I have been
I need just look around me
Life presents a mesmerizing scene

Brighter times
The thought of this stops my heart
