I'll give it a go. I suck at poems though.. ;)

Withered dreams crumble beneath,
The desiccated thoughts of an abandoned heart,
Ghostly white fingers grasp at illusions,
Swaying to the screams of a fractured mind.

Fear births terror, madness spills over,
Broken shards line darkened eyes,
Lips sealed shut, promises broken,
Vacuous darkness battles anew.

Creeping doubt as resolve falters,
Rehydrating forgotten emotion,
Uncertainty grapples moments unwritten,
The monster subdued in this shackled soul.

Eh.. I tried..

Cool thread! Thanks Dante.

Poetry Table (Poetry Month)
1) Do poems linger in your soul or or do they take a weary toll?

Why yes indeed, they do, they do.
They linger long with presence strong.
No weary toll, no lost control.
For rhymes are what I’m made of.

2) What one poem have you read which fondly lingers in your head?

No one name presents itself
Of all the thousands on the shelf
A choir of careful thought
Of voices time forgot

3) With many poets old and new, which one speaks the best to you?

As I have said in answer to
The question before this one
A single face
The name of one
I cannot give to you

4) Do YOU have poetic Flair? And have you one you'd like to share?

Rumbling memories, murmuring thoughts
Caught on jagged images of yesterday

Broken glass
In rotting frames
Tinder for the flames
That will burn the night
Down
Down to morning cinder

It will linger through tomorrow
A warm sorrow
It almost feels good

Maybe it should, feel good
Suffering suits my melancholy
As I suffer
As I should

5) I ask you just a verse or two, white a poem fresh and new.

Fresh and new?
The nerve of you!
What is it you’re trying to do?
Break my head?
Force a rhyme?
I can’t just do this anytime.
I have to think.
I have to plan.
After all, I’m just a man!

Discussion Table (Morse Code Day)
1) When was it last you ventured out and found new things to talk about?

It’s been so long
So long indeed
Weeks have passed
But still
My heart won’t bleed
For others have greater need

2) And when last did your hand extend to find yourself a brand new friend?

The hand you ask about is cold.
Forbidden to touch in isolation.
Soon the day will come.
Soon the day will come.
Until then
Just anticipation

3) And when last did you and friends meet, in winters chill or summer's heat?

A year or more
Or is it four
So long now
I don’t know for sure

4) What words would you seek to convey to drive all loneliness away?

To drive my own, I would say.
Love, will surely, come your way.
To another, I would say, hold on.
It’s coming, for you too, someday.

5) And it's Morse day, so since you know, try using Morse to say hello.

.--. . .- -.-. .

Story Table (Tell A Story Day)
1) What stories do you like to hear, to lift your heart or shed a tear?

My heart is lifted when I hear a story of triumph.
Over what would seem the tiniest of things.
These little tales of victory never cease to give me.
Much needed loving wind beneath my wings.
As for tears the story is the same.
For no victory comes without the pain.

2) What stories do you have to tell to help us get to know you well?

Once upon a time a lie was told.
The result is what masquerades as me.
Good intentions and dreams of picket fences.
Before you are the ashes of those dreams.

3) What stories of friends do you hold, that bring good cheer when they are told?

Stories of a goodness and grace.
Stories to pale my attempts.
Such goodness and grace.
Not seen before or since.
People to look up to.
People to put me in my place.

4) What stories of a time alone, are worth becoming widely known?

Time alone is illusion
Without human contact you must mean
Wherever I have been
I need just look around me
Life presents a mesmerizing scene

5) What story lives within your soul, what brighter times does it extol?

Brighter times
The thought of this stops my heart
I can’t make that climb
And its too late to start
