Hope everyone's having a beautiful, peaceful Sunday! I love you all. *grouphug2β™‘β™‘β™‘

In some countries *coughFinlandcough* Valentine's Day is not only about your romantic "significant other", but about your best friends, and your buddies, all the people you love... Have you ever celebrated your relationship with your friends? Sent them a card? Told them you care about them in the way that feels right to you? That you're grateful for their presence in your life no matter what?

Let all the people you care about know that you do. Let someone on SF know that you value what they give to you, even if it's not "in real life", because it matters...

HyvÀÀ YstÀvÀnpÀivÀÀ !
("Happy Valentine's Day" in Finnish, or literally, "Happy Friend's Day")

The world is a big place, your people are out there... :)
Thank you for sharing these messages and accompanying images, Auri. Thank you. *hugBig Hug, my rock star, friend.

Thanks for the invite, Dante. This Valentines Day is shaping up to be much easier for me this year thanks to JMG. What she said about Valentines Day being a day to not only celebrate romantic love, but to celebrate love in all its forms left quite an impression on me. I never thought to look at it that way before. Since my divorce I've always tried to ignore this day - like I've tried to do with other holidays, too. But this weekend I've watched episodes 4,5 and 6 of the "Star Wars" saga - movies and memorabilia I've loved since I was a kid. And I also watched two Queen concerts - the band I love more than any other band. Two things I love, and I celebrated my love for them this weekend. Thank you, JMG *hug

People like me have been picked on and made fun of our whole lives for a variety of things. We're the whipping boys/girls. The ones designated to be bullied...the ones who bullies look for excuses - any excuses - to hate. For some of us, all we have for comfort are movies and music. "Star Wars" and Queen are two things I've always had to make me feel at least a little bit better. Two things that would never attack me for being different. That's one reason for me to celebrate my love for them.

So the next time your hear someone talking passionately about their collection of action figures or comic books or anything else, keep in mind how important that collection might be because of what it means to them. For some of us, it's all we have to be happy about.

Happy Valentines Day, my friends.

Autumn
Wow, I'm completely speechless from shock at reading those kind words you wrote about me Autumn! To merely say "thank you very much for saying those things about me" does not feel like it even begins to express the gratitude I feel from reading this. It may just be the best thing I ever read in my life. I never thought anything I said or did would ever leave any kind of impression on anyone else in any way at all, so the fact that as of reading this that it's now been changed....there's just no way to express the level of happiness and relief I feel that I've actually had a positive influence on another person like that.

I'm beyond happy that it ended up being a happier, better Vday for you after thinking of it that way as well. I feel like that is what I've been trying to do in every way I could think of for my whole life and that people have just constantly chosen to not truly see or appreciate it at all. Thank you for being an exception, and I love everything you wrote in that post, so completely true (about being more respectful about what people love even if it might not be something that is important to the observer because it could be one of only a few things that bring them joy in life) :) I absolutely mean it when I say I wish a LOT more people could be a lot more like you, this would truly be a million times better of a world if it was! :) :) :) ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀

Aw ty FF that's soo sweet of you to say, hoping it's an enjoyable relaxing day for you too, and also I wish I could get gifts for everyone here as well! :) ❀ ❀ ❀

Not anymore though my sister and her boyfriend have a dog, not to mention three cats they're "fostering" *coughkeepingcough* <3.

2) Have you ever given blood? Nope, I should though but I am way too squeamish. My grandmother gave lots of blood.
3) What is your favourite book and why? Every book by Robin Hobb, especially the Farseer Series. She is a masterful storyteller and world builder.
4) When was your last adventure, and what was it? (any adventure counts). Haven't been on any lately but next month we're going to stay in a little place by a bay in the park.
5) What are your FAVOURITE chocolates? Mint! Peppermint bark.
6) Do you have any fun Valentines Rituals you observe as a single person?
Meh, not really. Just spending it with the family :).

H-E-Y_yyYYyY.!;)~* RooO!.:D (it's so good to see you in here, My DEER;D)_ ^truthfully~ i was contemplating making such a suggestion to you the other night, before getting side-tracked, or having "second~thoughts?" (I guess. . !) :) -but I know, that we both go way back to before when there were "tags," & 'Likes,' & things that people did. So, I just wanted you to know that you are always welcome & invited, even if lacking in more official documentation as seems perhpas to the uninitiated observer/or member, maybe a fau pas~ or some thing, maybe even a little less "extraordinary," (than that. . ) ;)

And also: there is this! ...(that I was just dying to know, or see what somme of your more impeccible answers might have been to some of the se -especially more 'thought-provking!' "?'s..;)" Now, onto the in-depth 'Content Analsycis~.' of your posst/ or "answers!" Just joking- :D

Also in case anybody is wondering, and I'm sure this must or may have been addressed earlier in the thread, or even if it hasn't probably everybody already knows. . . that the blood banks, (Or whatever they're called) or storage-supplies : of "blood~," tht is to say--the number of (acutal) 'donors!' is down during thesee uncertain times. So, if there's anybody that you know, out there willing & fully able, or capable; maybe it'd be nice to let them know. Or at least that you know, those that don't or do not already! : ) PSA = Ova` ! ( ; ...^~*

NOw where were we?.? Oh, yes "toatal; or wait- no... Forest! j/kkk~ i need me macigal "lbue pil,ls!" fur die 'ENERGY_^:)' w/which day provide. . :D

1) that picture is beyond adorable, your Sister & her BF/Husband/L>P(?)...;) are an awfully 'Lucky,' couple to have both or all of those/them & also: the *_(in between! :))_* 's. . ;) 'tis Brilliant~ i LOVE It_
~I thinkk we;ve aleardy been thru numbah deux!! ;D
3) I'm going to have to chekc her out, Now! (Seriously- I remember yo mentioning here from before..;)) And now, it's all about trying to fing=d or figure ougt --"how many~." (books!) are in her collecgtion; or 'Series!' that one - in partuicluar // that' uve both mentioned an d referenced_(^;
4) O' Sister- do I ever remember how fond you are of; & your great AND Epic Love- for the Parks!!!! :^) Hallelujiah~ *> Cause that's all I can think of to say -- even if it is somehow inappropriate, here ... in this "setting," & that 'context!' : ) maybe I shuold jsut say, "CAn't wait for your trip!" ^-*&_Enjoy ma' Lady~!*> ; )
50 OH! You know, that's my Sister's FAVORITE (Ice~CReam) flavour. . . & so, you know: have had it, "Lots!" when (growing up!) ;) Love_You_Lots; like, oh! my.. GOD- (= will have to try it again soon: All because of U! :D j/k
6) Hey I think I rememver you telling me a littlbe it about your familiy once upon a time (in particulra your folks!) & let me just say how JHappy I am for you to have them, and to have heard that, all those many manny moons ago *~~*~~* :^) bravo! & encore- ;^)

A bit past Valentine's Day, but still...

1) Do you have a pet? If so, tell us about them (pictures welcome).
Not anymore. Used to have hamsters, but every single one eventually escaped. I still don't know what it's like for a hamster to get old and pass on.

2) Have you ever given blood?
Yes. My old workplace made it easy via blood vans.

3) What is your favourite book and why?
The one by Clive Cussler. (I know he wrote 50+ of them, but it's all basically the same fun story of James Bond-type swashbuckling heroes and villainous mega-villains during modern times.)

4) When was your last adventure, and what was it? (any adventure counts).
40 miles on foot in the hot desert. Not sure exactly why.

5) What are your FAVOURITE chocolates?
Anything with agar-agar in it. Too bad it seems to be underappreciated in the US, but Europe makes it well.

6) Do you have any fun Valentines Rituals you observe as a single person?
Not really. Everyone I know is a double person.

Thanks for the tag Dante. Sorry to be late.
I’m at the solo table.
1) Do you have a pet? If so, tell us about them (pictures welcome). I don’t have any myself but my roommates have cats and reptiles.
2) Have you ever given blood? No. I thought of doing it at one point but I heard at one point during the process they prick your finger and I’m scared of finger pricks.
3) What is your favourite book and why? Catch-22. I like the humor but also the seriousness and complexity.
4) When was your last adventure, and what was it? (any adventure counts). I’m not really sure tbh. Haven’t been adventuring much lately, especially not since my surgery. Though I have tried a few new restaurants lately.
5) What are your FAVOURITE chocolates? I love dark chocolate
6) Do you have any fun Valentines Rituals you observe as a single person? No, I mostly don’t bother with it.
