I was just reading up on the Jenny Craig diet, it looks promising I must say. Do you eat their meals? Is it online or groups in your area? I was reading the website and apparently it has a lot of health benefits other than just weight loss too so now I understand better where you are coming from and why you can't go over the 1200 mark.

it’s a 1200 calorie diet and very hard to stick to and they want you to fast for 12 hours so nothing to eat after 7pm to 7am
I'm no expert but I never heard of a diet where you don't eat for that long a period. I thought, when dieting, it's better to eat very small meals often as every time you eat something you boost your metabolic rate a little. Of course it depends on what you take in ; lots of fiber, protein, vegetables, water, water, water, etc...

Interestingly many times when we feel hungry we are actually thirsty. So, I read somewhere, when you feel hungry you should drink a big glass of water and wait 15 to 20 minutes; then if you're still hungry, eat.

But whatever works for you keep doing it :)
Good Luck.

I eat some of their meals I can’t afford to eat it for every meal but it helps to have their dessert and breakfasts (when working). I actually had chocolate cheesecake for dessert today and only 180 calories and they add things that are good for you like fiber and such supposedly but really good.

That sounds really good. Can I ask how long you have been following that plan and how much weight you lost on it so far?

I have lost around 7 pounds in three weeks. But I did drink alcohol one of those weeks so didn’t lose much that week but I figure slow and steady is the best way.
Well done that is fantastic, you go girl :) Congratulations. Yes....slow and steady wins the race. I myself have lost 7lbs since I started my diet at the end of April through plain old healthy eating :) We have this in the can!!

Well done @sassy123 !!
I will go to the gym today but no running for me as my old injury seems to be hitting back. So cross trainer for 30 minutes. I really don't like cross trainer - sooo boring. But good exercise, lighter on legs, and really good for the butt
And I will TRY not to eat too much. @sassy123 i used to do weight watchers. But i was constantly hungry. And at one point i stopped. I have no strong will relly
So here i am. Fat Im sure you can make to work for you. I just do comfort eating and i needed a lot of comfort recently xxx you are doing a great job!

Goals for today? @Woowoo @Mishka1204 @Witty_Sarcasm @sassy123

My goal is to drink 3-4 cups of green tea.
My goal is just to do better than yesterday. This week is a struggle because work is so busy. I'm away from home for about 14 hours a day which makes exercise and healthy eating more difficult. It's not helped by the fact that I have to eat gluten free. Next week is going to be difficult as well because I'm staying away from home because of work. I just have to do the best I can.

I've done better than yesterday. I managed to squeeze in a short 10 minute walk at lunchtime so done just over 9000 steps in total today. Food wise I had breakfast biscuits and a low fat yoghurt this morning. Salad and some grapes for lunch, a cappuccino mid afternoon and then pasta with tomato and pesto sauce for dinner. I've also drunk plenty of water.

How is everyone else today?

Actually a lot of diets suggest not eating after a certain time
Yea, duh. Of course you're right. After reading what you wrote again I realized that I wasn't paying attention to the time frame. Stupid me.

One thing I have read though is drinking a high-protein, no sugar (zero), shake before bed actually helps you burn calories while you sleep.

And again, I could be very wrong but I really question the long-term effectiveness of "any" diet. I'm sure you've heard of the yo-yo effect.

It seems to me that if you just learn to eat healthy (lots of fruits and vegetables, lots and lots and lots of water, organic meats, and avoiding all sugar, wheat and packaged foods, etc...) and exercise (burning off more calories than you take in) you physiologically can't help but lose weight. And this method isn't something you only do when you want to lose a few pounds as it will actually help you get to, and maintain, your ideal weight.

Just my thoughts.

So I was planning to wake up this morbing and exercise...which didn't happen as staying in bed turned out to be far more tempting.. who would have thought, right? :)
I have a core class at the gym today. 20 minutes. Not much but always something. And I'm going out with a friend soio... no healthy eating I'm affraid...
