It’s fascinating how the word "liberal" gets thrown around as an insult online, especially when people are just exercising their freedom of speech (even if it is to insult a politician).
At its core, liberalism is a political and social philosophy rooted in protecting individual liberties, representative democracy, and equality before the law. It’s the very foundation that allows us to openly critique power and politicians without fear of government retaliation. Using it as a slur or insult to silence someone's free speech or mock and make fun of them is a wild contradiction. If standing up for individual liberty and constitutional rights makes someone "liberal," then those are values worth being proud of.
Next time someone tries to use it as an insult because you used your freedom of speech to critique a politician, just remember—they’re accidentally insulting the exact framework that gives them the right to complain in the first place.

The word liberal has too many meanings. The people saying that online are probably referring to left-wing "identity politics" types.
Although I'm not entirely sure after reading your post again. Still, I'm guessing the politicians who were being criticised were right-wing / conservative. So the replies were being dismissive: "oh you're just a liberal (meaning a type of left-wing etc).
No wonder politics is a mess when the terms are so confusing.

Yeah, it is a mess for sure 😅 For context, the post was just a harmless joke about Trump’s hair. Someone thought it was really funny and a hyper-aggressive user went on a totally unhinged, vulgar rant, screaming 'liberals this and liberals that" as an insult just because someone mocked him. That’s why I wrote this. I just found it incredibly ironic that someone would use 'liberal' as a dirty word to attack free speech, when free speech is the core value of classical liberalism. They used a right given to them by liberalism to insult it! (That's just how I saw it as. Most use it for an insult but following its proper meaning i don't find the word to be insulting.)
I am in Seattle for the first time in my life and I’m with a friend whose brother lives here and is sick. She keeps bugging me about what to see where to go how to get there and how much it costs. She is very demanding and I am getting irritated. I didn’t know the train system and she is demanding times to get places and other things. I will be glad to be home Friday night
I live just south of Seattle. I used to live in Seattle or go there often. Have not been there in a while so do not know about getting around. But I would recommend visiting the Pike Place Market and the water front in downtown. It is an expensive city, but those two places are great to visit. And you don't have to buy a bunch of stuff. In fact, you really have not seen Seattle unless you have been to those places. Woodland Park Zoo is also good. Hope you enjoy the city. But there is a lot of homelessness around so don't be shocked when you see it.
I hate spilling water from cat’s water bowls, the water just wont cooperate.
I hate it when my feet accidentally bumps to the water bowls and instead of splashing water around it which is an easy clean up, tonight the splash formed a river across the room like how tf does that even happen when I can see only a little amount was reduced so where did it get the extra water to form a river.

The college still hasn't gotten things fixed and I feel like they are just lying about working on things. How am I going to be able to get my school materials that I need for classes if it says I don't have a right to my Pell grant because of this annoying glitch? It also still shows that they are literally charging me over 1,200$+ which is bs. How does the school system even get a "glitch" like this in the first place?
Also- despite my work on getting over my mom and her behavior- it is still going to be a constant battle. Somedays are easy some days she just knows how to just dig the knife and twist it relentlessly. I already know deep down she doesn't care about me or how I feel. I gave up on putting most of my energy into caring about her and how she feels. But it still stings when she literally ignores my very existence when I am sitting in front of her and she only acknowledged my sister, or talks to her, or asks her things like "what do you want to eat" or offering the last piece of something to her but not to me. It may be childish or sound pitiful but that's the shitty part of lacking a parents love growing up.
I feel I could use more therapy but my therapist says I'm ready to graduate (just 1 more session). I will find some workbooks to focus on healing that inner child more on my own and hopefully in time it won't bother me at all

My mom gave me errands.
I have still yet to accomplish the form for that other government ID, I have to go to their branch.
I have yet to enroll myself back in school, there’s 1 week left.
The worse part is that these three tasks require me to be outside. Just thinking about it stresses me that I get diarrhea
