Two things; one I was thinking about and one that just happened.

I like Kitty as a nickname for Katherine, but Kitty Forman (from That ‘70s Show) and Kitty Pryde (from the X-Men) are the only ones I know of. No real people, no other fictional ones, but it has to have been reasonably popular at some point, right?

The second is I live very close to a cruise ship dock. Every day, twice a day, I’ve been hearing a piece of music played on a foghorn. A very familiar piece of music; I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out where I know it from.

It was playing just now, and I absentmindedly started singing along to it. That’s how I figured out what it is. Guys, it’s the theme to “The Love Boat.”

And, almost as if on cue, a skunk sprayed outside so now I have to shut the window, which means taking off the fuzzy robe.

I am not god’s mightiest soldier, why does he send me his toughest battles?
I was going to say "What skunk would go out in this weather?" but then I remembered you live in an area that's not ass cold right now.

Yeah, for us anything under 70 is cold and under 60 is freezing. It’s only gotten cold enough to snow here twice in my whole life. If you’re covered in fur, you probably don’t even notice the seasons.

Speaking of, why haven’t we domesticated skunks and raccoons yet?

They’re friendly enough that, with the space to house them, I bet I could breed domesticated ones within a few generations.

What are their mating habits? Could you breed some kind of hybrid, or would you have to go all Dr. Frankenstein on them. I don’t want to google it in case I end up on a list somewhere.

Anyway; it gets very wet for a little while, but that’s it and it doesn’t reach very far inland.

Where do people live that there are all these classes and groups to join, and events to go to?

I’m in one of the biggest cities in the world, and I just cannot find them.

What are these “community centers” with lists of places to go and stuff to do? My ”community“ does not seem to have one.

Where do people go, aside from work and home? They certainly don’t hang out at coffee shops or bars anymore.

Why do people never clean up their out of date webpages? I find pages for groups or events that are up to 10 years out of date, is server space that cheap?

Why are there 10,000 groups devoted to hiking walking or running? This is the only thing I can ever find, and the thought of walking with a group is laughable, much less running or hiking.

Why does every list of what to do when lonely start with “call a loved one.” Why does every bunch of suggestions for meeting people start with telling you to expand your social circle by meeting people through friends and loved ones? Is it really that uncommon, that inconceivable, that someone might not know anyone to start with?

I’m currently on (about) day 3,000 since I had someone to share a conversation, or eat a meal, or watch a movie with. Every time I get my hopes up, every time I think “maybe this time, maybe this’ll work” I just end up feeling worse than I did before.

Uber/Lyft drivers will do literally every desperate measure to get a tip besides doing the thing that will actually get a tip from me, that being asking what kind of music I want on. Why is it that this only happens a rare 1% of the time I'm on Uber/Lyft

I just saw a clip of Timothy Omundson’s character arguing with Chrissy Metz on This Is Us.

For those who haven’t seen the show (myself included) he is a stroke survivor and the role was written specifically for him.

(He also played Cain on Supernatural before the stroke, I know I’m not the only one who saw that show)

It was like looking in a mirror. I’ve even had the same argument with a neighbor about where they park (though it was the car owner themself, not his wife).

Specifically, the way he walks is super similar to me and very familiar.
