I had a treat today :)

I've been packing healthy foods to eat while I am studying although I think I need to pack a bit more food. I went for a walk this morning and evening.

So, tonight didn't go well, but I know why. I have been neglecting the most important thing and not getting enough sleep. I have only been getting about 4 hours a night, except on the weekends, for a number of reasons and it was affecting me at work (shitty attitude) and at home (no motivation). SO, tonight I might have broken down and bought McDonald's, but it was only because I fell asleep as soon as I got home at 630 and slept til 10:30 pm. Now my sleep routine is going to be even more off the mark because I won't go back to bed til probably 2 or 3 in the morning :(

Self care is so important in all aspects of our lives. How was I missing the fact that I was not sleeping properly? I have to take better care of me if I want to climb out of this depression I am in.

Self care is so important in helping to break depression, but it's also so bloody hard. But you can do it @Ineluki The first step is realising how what you need to do and how important it is, so you've nailed that.

I was so tired last night I fell asleep without checking in here. Yesterday wasn't particularly good. I was busy at work again so only got in a short walk and didn't get to 8000 steps.

Food wise- I ate nothing for breakfast, some pop chips, olives and a yogurt for lunch, a couple of last biscuits for an afternoon snack and a vegetable omelette for dinner. That wasn't too bad but it all went a bit wrong in the evening again, like it often does for me!! I had a couple of glasses of wine and felt hungry so had 4 mini corn on the cob. I guess it's not as bad as having chocolate but still unhealthy because I put butter on them.
I will do better today.

On the plus side, I did drink quite a lot of water :)

I am enjoying reading all the comments here. You all make me feel like part of a team because everyone is struggling to find more discipline and better self care.

So, tonight I am going to try exercising. Not sure how that will go but we'll see I suppose.

I had a stressful day at work but I did not go to the pub. I went shopping instead and bought enough stuff to make dinner for everyone for what ONE McDonald's meal would have cost (that is where I would have ended up eating if I went to the pub first lol).
Exercise is great. If you do moderate exercise at least 3x a week you dont need to restrict your meal as much.

You will lose water(sweat) and calorie weight, so when you wake up in the morning you will be lighter than yesterday, which is a boost for your moral ;)

I had a great day today, walked around a lot (i'm counting that as exercise) had a lunch of a wholemeal sandwich, pineapple, strawberries and a yogurt and ocean pie for dinner. No water but I am doing the best I can :)

Well done Petal that's brilliant.

What do you drink? It's something I struggle with. I don't enjoy water - I drink as much of it as I can because I know I should but it's boring. But I don't know what else to drink that isn't packed with sugar (I don't tend to drink diet drinks as I don't like aspartame)

No worries at all. I'm doing my own 8 week weight loss plan. I want to lose 21lbs by November 1st. Having a goal to work towards always makes it that little bit easier. Let's see if I can pull it off. There's no more ''i'll start tomorrows''. Today is the day every day :)

I've had a pretty good day today. I didn't have breakfast, just coffee. For lunch I just had some pop chips and for dinner I had chicken with courgettes, spinach and tomato.

I went for a 5 mile walk and did some sit ups and leg raises.

On the down side, I've only drunk about 750 ml of water and I've just poured my second gin and tonic.

Ah, thank you so much for reminding me to get popchips :D You have had an awesome day hun. wow @ 5 miles.
Keep it up girl and you'll reach your dreams.

So are you just trying to eat sensibly or doing something specific for your 8 week plan @Petal?
Eating healthily and sensible, no specific plan at all, just going with the flow and eating as healthy as possible, when possible, where possible. I know if I put my mind to it, track what I eat and exercise I will get where I want to be. I have motivation right now which is really high - lets hope it stays that way :)

Have no way of buying groceries for the foreseeable future. Currently out of milk, cheese, and bread. Eating only two meals a day is becoming less of a choice and more of a necessity.

Thanks Petal. I'll be fine, I'm just complaining. Still have a bunch of canned food in the kitchen. Hugs
