I've had a good day today.

Here's what I consumed:
* just coffee for breakfast
* a smoothie for lunch
* prawn salad with a sandwich thin for dinner followed by some melon and grapes

I had no alcohol again today, but I still haven't drunk as much water as I should (about a litre again).

I went for a walk this morning and, with all the other walking, I've done more than 16000 steps today :)

How is everyone else getting on?
Sounds really healthy Woo. Nice one. :) Do u have a step measurer thing? and is it a good idea? I worry that might feed into my OCD and will become too focussed on doing enough steps each day.
anyways, tc. R :)

I have a fitbit @bobbob which counts steps and monitors heart rate. I find it very useful but it's important not to get too hung up on it. For years the advice was to do 10000 steps a day, but that can be really difficult to achieve. More recent advice is that it's more important to do at least 10 minutes brisk walking a day (google active 10)

OK, so I need to do a few things:

1 Quit going out drinking
2 Cut back on how many lattes I buy every week
3 Live according to strict budget for the next year

I am not just doing these things because I want to get healthier; I have an ulterior motive. For the first time in five years, I did not have a rent increase, so I am going to pocket the money I budgeted for the increase, and save it for buying a house. If I cut back on a few other non essential items, I can save around $15000 for a down payment by next summer. Not much, but a good start I think.

A new job may be necessary in the end. I don't know. I hate looking for work but I am putting a resume together in any event.

Also, the trips to the bar will have to come to an end for a long time, maybe forever. So, guess what? That means I will be home more often, and you will get sick of me because I will sign in here more.

It also means that I can occupy my time exercising. I am a little nervous about exercising because I am so badly out of shape, that I worry about injuries, so I have to lots of light exercises for several months probably before I do anything strenuous.

I am actually excited about doing this!

Any number of things could happen between now and next year, but something stuck with me that I saw on a T Shirt. It said something like, "I bet a year from now you'll wish you had started on that thing today!" So, yeah, I need to start today if I want to make next year better.

As this plan develops, I will post more about it here.

I'm answering to the post of august **laaaaate**
Wo-ha, @Citizen Insane Congratulations ! That actually makes me think about going to the gym myself ! I also have one right at the corner ...

My goals for September :
- bake french croissants successfully
- take the time to do some photographs
- buy a few more clothes... that's so difficult :( I hate going in men's part of shops
- eating decent food
- exercise a bit more
I don't have a scale so I don't know if I'm losing weight or not, but I actually prefer not to know otherwise I would just go mad and do stupid stuff like not eating.

@Ineluki Woah, you really do have strong objectives :) That's awesome ! Way to go !
@Petal Good luck with you objective ! I'm sure you can do it :) Don't worry on these few bad days ._. they're gone now
@Shaunie may I know how tall you are ? 44kg sure isn't heavy, I hope you know what you're doing ^_^
@Woowoo I wanted to do the report thing at some point but I found it extremely hard... maybe setting an alarm would help ? Green tea team Power ! \o/ good luck with your goals

I think I lost count of the total times I went the past few weeks, but I went again today in the late morning/early afternoon. :P Feeling much better now emotionally. I was very worried that my headaches would get worse during fitness in general, but it actually got better. :o :)

I need to recover for the rest of the day, some pains here and there in the legs and arms. Going to the gym tomorrow again, I think... I haven't planned a rest day yet since I still feel 2 to 3 times better than I usually do. ;)
Not training my muscles with weights every day:
Day 1 cardio only, Day 2 Cardio + weights, Day 3 cardio only .... and so on.

I have quickly fallen off the wagon. Sugar is so damn addictive :eek: i will get back on the wagon soon, good luck everyone <3
I know what you mean about food being addictive... my personal vice is salty/carb-laden treats. I think falling off the wagon every so often is okay as long as you make up for it later on. Heaven knows I've done that enough times myself. Try not to get discouraged, I have faith in you

Just wondering, do you have lots of sugary stuff at home?
I actually don't come to think of it but when I get a sugar craving, I go to the shop and I reach for chocolate and ice cream and comfort eating is another issue. Starting afresh tomorrow - that is for sure. Comfort eating is a definite issue.
Sometimes I feel like the urge is so bad I can't stop myself even though I really know I will feel like poop after eating it.
I think though the key issue is keeping up the motivation to stay exercising and eating healthily.
Thanks for the concern, i'll wow you tomorrow with my healthy eating :P

just the usual I guess and some. But Ive kind of decided that IF is miracle cure. I know it probably isnt. But for autoimmune it seems as good as anything else and no dangerous side effects unless you count feeling so darn peckish at 8:48 am.
I'm not sure that feeling peckish at 8.48 is that dangerous bob :)

Try not to worry. From what you've told me I think you lead a pretty healthy lifestyle. You get a balanced diet - your awareness of the nutrients in different foods is excellent - you get out walking and jogging and your resting heart rate is excellent. Maybe just cut back a bit on the wispas and buttons ;)

You can do this Petal. Think of that Christmas present to yourself. Tomorrow is a new day, a new start. Just take it one day at a time. Big hugs

I've had another good day today. Food wise I had:
* just green tea for breakfast
* salad with a sandwich thin for lunch
* bbq chicken with salad and a small portion of oven chips for dinner
* 2 oat biscuits as a snack

I've drunk more water today (about 1.5 litres) and walked more than 10000 steps. I did have one gin and tonic though, but I've had 2 alcohol free days this week so that's OK :)
