As someone who's 40 and never had sex I think it's best not to think about it too much. It's like bungee jumping, it may be great, it may be awful, do I care? Not really. And I think you need to take the same attitude towards sex if you intend on never doing it.

Does sex make life great? My parents have/had sex and their lives aren't too great so I guess not. So find something else.

I kind of prefer watching people having sex like in pornos rather than actually doing it myself.

When women stay virgins in their 20's and 30's, they're praised for being chaste. When guys do it, we're considered losers? Give me a break. I'm a 27 year old male and yes I'm stil a virgin, but I don't consider myself a loser by any means. I could have gave it up to some slut, but then it would have no meaning and would be just physical. Don't let anyone make you feel that you're a virgin loser.
fail on many levels. foremost that no woman is praised for being "chaste" after about 21-22. they start being called spinsters after 35 or so and I don't think refering to women as sluts is very constructive. go fuck some slut then..or prostitute "just physical" means it just feels really good.

That really made me laugh. Also DIT, you're not a virgin loser. When women stay virgins in their 20's and 30's, they're praised for being chaste. When guys do it, we're considered losers? I shoulda figured it was him that said that. same feller that snuck the
following unsolicited twist of events into the thread........

Rape is a putrid, filthy, destructive thing
yeah, so is murdering sweet little old ladies with chain saws and both
putrid filthy acts are equally relevant to DIT's original post, which should
by all rights be relevant to HIM (certainly makes no sense to moi) and perhaps
his team of psychiatrists.

sounds like Dave could use a little couch time as well. but, who am I to judge?
none-body, that's whom.

here's DIT's opener again, sans any mention of rape and/or chainsaw massacres

sex is an addiction, probably worse than cocaine. And mired in pregnancy and STJ's. I don't know why people uphold such a putrid filthy destructive thing. At times I feel down like i am missing out with all people say of how great and transcendent it is, but those times grow shorter and shorter, and when the storm clears, i am glad i never had it. because it would change who i am, make me a terrible person. i pray the temptations to stay away from me.

I agree with you OP, I'm proud to be a virgin. Sex is greatly over-rated by the media, and I don't feel like it's something I really need. There's too much risk, too much to go through, and it doesn't seem to be worth it.

Only problem is they can't figure out who the love or it changes every year/month/week/15 minutes. What's so torturous is my body keeps telling me i want a female companion and its hard to suppress.
hmmmm...no fooling? cold showers not workin for ya? why don't you
try thinking about something else. just an idea. not sure how great of an
idea it is.

Sorry I didn't read anything above. Why not masturbate?
i do but i keep getting this feeling like i'm missing something in life that i hav not lived if dont hav sex. that sex is joy and happiness. but its a bad feeling to have because sex is destructive and out of my reach. how do i fix my mind and emotions

Everytime I had sex it was boring at best and highly disgusting at worst. My body is dead toward others, yet the hormones and the craving are extremely persistent. I always wished there was a way to remove this via surgery; just cut it out.

And while certain drugs like Paxil do have a side effect of killing your libido, it only did so for two months after I had started taking it.

Im actually surprised this thread has gone on this far... but Im just going to summarize myself from everything I've read.

Im sure there are tons of things you've read or seen in real life that has brought you to this conclusion, but you cant blame sex for the problems, it's the people. Yes, there are definately people out there that can get addicted to sex. It's human nature to want sex. All species are drawn to it. If it wasnt desireable, then the human race wouldnt be where it is now and we wouldnt be reproducing. Having sex wont automatically make you addicted to it either... Ive been in a relationship where most of it was sex... it wasnt because we were addicted, but out of love, or moreso an attraction to one another. We ended up breaking up, but im not desiring sex all the time... in fact, Id rather wait for when another relationship starts, that we didnt have sex for quite some time. It all has to do with your sex drive. Some people have huge sex drives and want sex more. The reason you here about all this talk about people going after others for sex and such is just that those people chose to release their sex drive that way. You make your own choices on who you have sex with, and even if you have a high sex drive after having it once, it doesnt mean u have to follow those cravings. It's not some overwealming thing that's going to take over your life.

Yes, there are also girls that try to get pregneant for all that you said. If your worried about finding a partner like that, you just have to be careful to find someone that is loving and caring and isnt like that. Maybe hard cause they obviously want you to be comfy with them and love them, but id assume it would probably feel fake comming from them. And yep, lots of other things to worry about with sex, like STDs. That's where going to your doctor for proper tests, and using correct birth control methods help out.

Sex isnt something you should be scared or think makes people discusting (or rather makes people discusting). If your in a loving relationship it really is a wonderful thing. Also some people have it and dont find anything in it, whole ton of reasons that could be like that, but doesnt mean it'll be like that for everyone. In simplest terms, all i can say is sex is a method to show share love with a partner, to reproduce, or (for some people) to relieve sexual tensions (whether through rape or whatever), but that's all it is, a method, it's what people do with it that matters. Some for good, some bad (unfortunately). Yes Im sure you hear tons about the bad... but that's mostly what your going to hear about. Not really much talk about the good sex that happens out there.

I think at this point Id just be blabbering on and making no sense, but Ive made my point i think.

Thanks for your input lost and others who posted. It really doesn't matter in any case i suppose, because no girl will ever want me so best to learn to live without it and without affection or love.
