Yes @Walker that’s good going.
I’ve as usual been fine all day today and yesterday while out...hit home... 3 fags
I think my association is reward....work myself into the ground, and then I think...ok I deserve it.
I think it’s because it’s the only thing I give back to me kind of thing.
So I’m screwed because honestly it’s the only time I’m not second guessing myself, just totally locking out the world.
I wish I could find another way to do that.
Plus because I only smoke at home, that kind of gives me further justification in my brain.
How I break this cycle, I have no idea.

It's weird. I totally think of myself as a non smoker now rather than someone who's trying to quit. There's only been a couple of occasions when I really missed it. I've got a very positive feeling about this :)
I haven't smoked for 6 months and I want 1 cig but everyone tells me that it might get me smoking again so I don't and I still reach for a cig once in a while not because I want one but out of habit you are doing a great job and you are going to have temptations but I know that you are strong enough to do it the longer you quit the easier it gets all my hopes that you make it

Arrgh...so have failed as I sit here smoking...sigh...but did order the Carr book...and going to try to not buy another pack today...been thinking about why I smoke and came up with...1) habit-- sitting on patio in am with coffee and on laptop (yes now) before world awakes....driving in car alone...let dog back in and last cigarette before head to bed (followed by teeth brushing and mouthwash) 2) break/reward after finish a task (yes awful to say have routine that after swim go get cheap coffee and smoke before going home--very sad and pathetic I know 3) to relieve stress when on phone usually with my father and habit when on phone with others ...sure there are more...So guess part of this quitting requires finding different things to do at all of these times when smoke...So for now/this morning/today...goal is NOT to buy another pack and after swim come home take shower and put on patch...and face being miserable and stressed and eat baby carrots..Congrats to others who are doing better at this and commiseration for all who are still a "work in progress" like me....

you haven't failed you had a setback and finding the triggers is very helpful the three triggers that were the worst for me was driving drinking coffee and after eating I worked on 1 trigger at a time good luck you can do it and if you slip you can try again I have faith in you

Don't beat self up too much. I am in fail mode also. I also ordered the Carr book. Maybe we could get a group of us Quitters together to go thru the book and help each other.

Hugs, Angie
