We're quitters!

I am completely screwed for quitting.
I’m allergic to the glue in nicotine patches. The lozenges and gum irritates my tummy, the spray hurts my throat.
The only thing that worked for me was an app called easy way to stop smoking. But it only works the first time you listen to it. I quit really well after the first time, but started again. I’ve tried listening to it again, but because I know the script now, it’s lost it’s effect.
The stupid thing is I only smoke at home. I can be out for a full day, even around others who are smoking, and not even have one craving, but for some reason I always have to have one or two before bed. After work I have to have at least one or two.
In the mornings, no cravings. During the day, if I’m home I might have one in the afternoon, I might not.
So really, I’m only smoking after work and before bed, but I can’t quit.
If anyone has any advice I would be really really grateful.

I am like that too! Going a full day of not smoking but when i am at home I can chain-smoke without realising o_O

I have read Allen Carr - The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. Although I am still smoking, just not as much as I used to

It's brilliant and I would highly recommend it to all. I found this review on YT

Yeah, there must be a name for why people who only smoke at home can’t quit.
It’s not a nicotine addiction because we’re alright going hours without nicotine.
It’s not habit because if I’m out at lunchtime, the thought doesn’t even cross my mind, but if I’m home I’m like hmmm I’ll have a quick one.
So is it smoking by association?
But I’m the same if I’m on holiday. The hotel becomes my home, so I smoke only when I’m there lol
I wish I could work out what my association is.
Of course stress brings on a binge smoke. But that’s not everyday.
I think I’m failing with quitting because I don’t know how to quit the association because I don’t know what the association is lol

I quit my job...

I saw a job I really wanted and spoke to the director of company personally and we seemed to get on and the job sounded perfect.

So I handed in my notice at work (before I had an offer of employment ) and hounded the said company vacancy after my interview.

On my last day at work (Friday) I got an offer of employment, accepted, meeting up on Friday this week and starting Monday. THANKFULLY!!!!

Would NOT recommend this to anyone though, it's been the most stressful month ever! But quitting forced me to focus on getting another job properly.
Best thing is, it is local (I don't have to travel 35 miles to get to the office anymore) AND I managed to secure the same pay, despite it being above the salary range they were offering.

Dammit it, I quit, pushed through and refused doubt my worth. Yay for quitting!!!!!

Now I just have to 'front up' to it all :D

I am pretty much killing this thing. I decided to quit with almost a full pack (which I thought was a really stupid idea) and I made it 2 days without smoking at all, broke down tonight for some reason and had one on the way to work (no idea why today because today was ultra low stress). But otherwise so far so good. I left the pack in the car so it would be more annoying to get to them (get dressed, get keys, go out front to get them then go back through the house to go out back to smoke, etc).

Didn't use this stupid fricking ecig much today either. (Which might've contributed to smoking on the way to work I guess now that I think about it. hmm) These things are just pointless. They are no fun at all.
Lets see what happens tomorrow.

Well, you are here with us. You could play a game on your phone or do a puzzle or read a book or watch TV or take the dogs out.
You can do it. Be tough.
It's now gone 7am and I got through the night - but that's mainly because I didn't actually have any to smoke.
I decided to quit with almost a full pack
Read my comment above! Get rid of them, I've done the whole leaving them in the car thing. It doesn't work.
Naughty boy.

I've heard that rumour. That's pretty terrible. They're between $5-$7.50 here in my state but other states are twice that. I use a dollar off coupon for nearly every pack and my exact brand & style will almost always have .50 off a pack stuck to it (to total $1.50 off).
There is no way in hell I could pay what, $16.50/pack? NO. Just... no. That's almost what I make an hour at my job! Hell no.
