Yeah. One of the actress was murdered by her boyfriend I think.
Yeah, the night beofre Halloween 1982.. that's not all though. The youngest girl died aged 12 the day after the 1988 Superbowl. In the movie there's a poster in her and her brothers' room - 1988 Superbowl - even though it was filmed in 1982. And..in the movie the mother says they can hear her better on a certain channel.. it reads number 12. And Richard Lawson later survived USAir flight 405 crash.

Oceans 11, the 2001 remake. First time I've watched it, believe it or not. I've been watching it a little at a time over the weekend, whenever I have a meal (not watching something while I eat is inconceivable to me). Haven't even gotten to the heist yet. It's pretty silly, and predictable, but it's a thousand times better than the original, which was really awful.

I think The Exorcist was also supposedly cursed, one of the sets caught fire and completely burnt down.

Oceans 11 and 13, are good but Oceans 12 was a bit of a disappointment, I won't spoilt it for you if you haven't seen it though.

Coincidence.

BUT...even as a die-hard atheist, I love films about this kind of stuff (Poltergeist, The Changeling, The Others, The Shining)...Just because it's fantasy and make-believe doesn't mean it isn't a fun, creepy ride .
When I was a kid The Shining scared the living crap out of me, all of it did. But nowadays for me the most terrifying part is Jack Nicholson*bleh. It's one of those few 'perfect' films. The acting, the directing, the script, the lighting, the locations, etc. Everything from the first frame to the last is flawless.

The scene where Danny is tooling around the Overlook on his trike and goes around the corner
and sees the dead twins at the end of the hall
STILL freaks me out, and I've seen it at least fifty times, maybe a hundred..
