Well, my favourite movie is easy - Oldboy (the Korean one). Second favourite is probably the Hateful Eight, Tarantino's most slow-burn, character-driven film. My third favourite is probably Cube. (Yknow, i'm noticing the pattern that these are all really violent. I swear that's not why i like them, directors telling complex stories with nuanced characters just also tend to employ a lot of violence *hiding)

Thanks for tagging me @JMG, and thanks for opening the cafe @MisterBGone. Solid question today, everyone's always keen to talk about their favourite bits of media, cos it's basically a microcosm of their overall personality. ;)
Oh, Old Oly... I remeber seeing it when I was nearing on Death's Door (for physical reasons) & so maybe that's what had to do with why it had sunk in so deeply, and concretely, reasonating for a good-long while afterwars. Yes, lots to love about that one! ;)

How about if we do: Favorite movies you've ever seen? Could be one that just came out. Or one that came out before you were even born! Or you can pick some-thing else, of yours that is a favorite to talk about (music / books / etc.). :^)

For me the Big 3 will always be, as of now; & that means today! ah, um..? I don't know~ (why do you have to go asking me these IMPOSSIBLE Questions to answer?) *hint, it's not Mission Impossible. -though I was happy to see he cast jennifer connelly, I did not see that one, nor many or most of his most recent, 'Missions.' I'm sure they're (all) brilliamt!~* :D

Anyway, carry^on~>
Hey hay MBG ( @MisterBGone ). If you take your SF manual out, turn to section #C128.3 - 85 R15b, you will see in plain English, (it myay be adorned English) that there IS a LIMIT to the number of syllables permitted in a Jim's Café name. it therefore is my citizenly duty to either report you to the SF Police, or make a CITIZEN'S arrest myself. I realize it being a Sunday the police are off today and at the moment I'd rather grab a croissant and cup-O-joe, than go and arrest you, thusly you are getting off quite easy. it also thusly would behoove you to shorten that title, assign a day and date and indicate in 600 words or more the importance to staying within the limits of Regulation Café Titling. (you do feel Behooved, don't you!?) Dare I further suggest this be done posthaste or 🥱💤💤💤

and i'm even certain that is not my only favorite....
like just yesterday i was at my electrologist's office waiting for the procedure when she reminded me i could watch a movie. thusly, i was behooved to request my all time favorite movie by virtue of having never seen it!

it in fact has been a life long dream for the past 12 or so years to finally see this when my kids would laugh at me and say "no it aint on netflix or amazon's or whatever ever"! and i'd only be behooved to dream on...

well now dare i cut to the chase....
the movie is none other than Despicable Me and during the 2+ hours i was there during the procedure, i did indeed watch that movie and guess what. still a FAV... for my entire life long life... the past 12 years... and going forward! i highly recommend it.

Star Trek First Contact

slightly unusual combination perhaps!! 🤣
that's okay, @Holding my breath ~we like "unusual," or 'eclectic,' (eccentric? what does that mean again!) ;) combos or/or "tastes," around here. Now, what is thsi Nothing Hill about? Hugh Grant, or seomthing! :D Sleepless in Seatle. Is hat like, a sequel to ...when harry met?? ;)

I think i will have to go with Mean Girls (2004), or black swan (2009)
I am not such a movie person tho, mostly series. Back in 2020 i thought I wont be in the mood for such long things, but i started watching friends bc of people recommending it way too often to me. After I got addicted to friends, i started watching everythig series and barely am in the mood for movies.
