no one fails when they set out to make themselves healthier. It's all a process and takes time.
Thought this was absolutely worth quoting as a reminder both to myself and others who might need reminding of it, thank you for the reminder, very true! :)

haha

If I end up doing 60-70 a day though I'll let you know. ;)
Lol! Not sure if that's even possible really ha. I remember this line in this movie I like, they were talking about losing weight and one of them said "if we want to lose a pound a week, we only have to run 20 miles a day!" lmao such a funny part of the movie :p

Tysm for what you said to my post too @Champagne that was so nice of you & I really appreciate your kind, caring support and encouragement with this. It's definitely been a challenge for me & I sometimes make excuses for why not to do it (tired, non-motivated, etc) but I need to stop doing that and just make myself do it somehow. You're right about planning and writing it down so I will do my best to have a much better level of discipline with that at least, and hopefully that will lead to me then doing it, even if it's just cos I'm annoying myself so much with all the writing down about it lol. If it gets me actually doing those things then it will be worth it for sure. I agree that it's important to eliminate the mindset of can't so I will work on that & keep that in mind as well :)

Thank you again and best of luck to you with your goals as well! :) *hug

PS - Ty for what you said about the tagging too, if you don't end up remembering for whatever reason then please don't worry, I will try to make a point of checking this forum monthly ;) :)

April is a great time to try this.
I am going to try and eat all 3 meals every day. I know that I need to eat, and that I need to not let my eating disorder take over. I need to learn that no matter how much I weigh, I will always be fine. My weight is perfectly fine, but when the bullies at school got to me, I believed it wasn't. There are some days where I don't eat at all. I need to start eating all the time. I know this. I am thinking of asking some people in real life to remind and force me to eat. But I don't know if this will work. I still feel like I need to be skinnier. I don't know if this is normal for someone my age or not. Being 13, these thoughts may be normal but it seems like that is not so. Anyways, I've started to ramble on. My goals for the month of April are to eat something each day. Preferably 3 meals. And to try to each something special on my birthday. That means I have about 3 weeks to build up to eating something containing sugar. I am going to do my best.
Hi hun *hug

Teenage years are a difficult years for sure, all around you... on magazine covers, on TV, heck, even on Netflix are rake thin actresses, models etc.. And purely airbrushed ones at at that. No-one is perfect so please try not to aim for that, also try not not aim to look like the model on the front of cosmopolitan. We all went through phases as teenagers but when it comes to very serious issues like anorexia, please get the appropriate care you need in real life too and yes, I personally would suggest you have the people around you reminding you to eat as well as seeing a professional, confide in any responsible adult you trust, a teacher or whoever works at your school, at your age it might seem hard to ask for that help but trust me, it will do you the world of good and be the best choice you ever made, get the exact same help regarding the bullying too, we we will be here for you.

Take your own advice there too with 3 solid healthy meals a day, or 5 small ones :)

As you get older, your appearance won't matter as much, of course its always good to be healthy and look nice, it feels great to wear nice clothes and have make up done nicely and that is fine but it REALLY is what is on the inside that counts in the end. I'm obviously not a professional in this but I was once a teenager who struggled with self image (I think most teens do to be honest), boys, girls, dates etc...

Be you. Be healthy and get the professional help, advice, support you need hun and we as peers will be here to support you *hug 🧡

Check in every day if you need to 💘

Well, it's technically April 1st here so I'll put my name down! *hiding Though, to be fair, school finishes today for two weeks and it's Easter this weekend so not the ideal time to start a "diet". FWIW - I say diet but what I mean by that is just what I eat each day. I need to eat foods that I can sustain long term so it's just a lifestyle change rather than a short term eating/ exercise plan.

Start with something you are likely to do and most of all, enjoy. If you don't enjoy it, distract yourself while you are doing it or find something else that works for you.
Some of you may find this strange but I love Keto so that's what I'm going back to. I don't find it restrictive at all and most of the foods are some of my favourites so it's really, really yummy. As much as I love carbs, once I stop them (or at least restrict them) I don't miss them at all. Weird. Oh, I have always been an intermittent eater which works perfectly with Keto too!

When I was doing Keto last year I was also walking but once the weather heated up, I had to stop :( I get sick in the heat plus, I can't lose weight without exercise.

The weather is much better, though the next few day will be around 30°C. Too hot for exercise which is walking. I love walking but I definitely need distractions so I have my music PLUS my hands get super fidgety so I walk with a bouncy ball. I look like a lunatic middle aged woman playing with my ball but in true "Kira" style, I simply don't care! :D

The leisure center near my house is reopening this month after being closed for the last few years for a multimillion dollar renovation. This means that I can FINALLY get back to swimming which I LOVE! *stars It's the best exercise for me due to my arthritis (lower back and knees) and it really burns those calories and tones the muscles too! ;)

Good luck everyone and I'll check back in a few weeks so I can actually start properly!

It would be good if I eat more fruits and veggies. I REALLY hate fruits ugh. But I reviewed my blood test result and I'm still anemic after taking a whole month of Iron and folic acid supplements so I guess I need to eat properly. I always skip breakfast and that's harmful....

Today I sign up for crossfit, get a tour of the gym and next week I start my "fundamental" classes where they basically monitor my fitness. I tried to do a CF exercise program this morning at home. haha OMG. This will be hard, but I'm excited to push myself a little.

Also, hoping to take a walk today, and I ran 3 miles yesterday. Wanted to swim, but it's not quite warm enough yet.

I'm hoping diving back into fitness will be a healthy distraction for me right now. Really need it.

This weekend i begin building my home gym too. I have a nice space in the garage and a few weights ready, so I just need a couple of things.

I took a walk last night and found my new house is located near a very pretty park. So, that was nice to find.

And I ran 3 miles this morning. I always forget that just moving around can help ease my depression a little. I'm hoping i can keep it up this month.

  • Red meat, pork and poultry.
  • Seafood.
  • Beans.
  • Dark green leafy vegetables, such as spinach.
  • Dried fruit, such as raisins and apricots.
  • Iron-fortified cereals, breads and pastas.
  • Peas.
Quick google from a reputable websites tells me these are the best foods for anemic people to eat. Maybe you need to try and add more than supplements and get these foods into your daily intake?

I know from reading myself that red meat and leafy green vegetables have always been one of the top foods for curing anemia, maybe try and fit some in for lunch and dinner? Good luck. *hug

Skipping breakfast being harmful - I always thought that too but experts have been debating it recently by seeing people's results of intermittent fasting so I'm unsure but I do hope your next lot of blood work comes back healthier :)

I am on week 3 of my diet and have started exercising lightly. it is going well but I'm staying away from the scales for a while, while some find them helpful, I find for me personally, it's best to weigh every now and again.

Cut out the bad fats and most bad sugars so I think I'm making progress and no junk food other than a treat every so often. I will continue and hopefully see results in time, it's a long process but every single day counts towards that goal of good nutrition and health.

A gym at home? That sounds like a dream come true :D You must have great determination. That is gonna be a whole lot of fun for you plus yes, we all need a distraction like that in times like this. Amazing *hug

Hi @Kira wow 30 degrees. I'm jealous, think most of us must be hehe,. Yeah, I can definitely imagine working up a sweat in that is not fun to say the least. Swimming does sound like a much better solution. I hope it helps you to fulfill your goals.

Keto - I have never tried that, I love carbs way too much for that but other than the carb restriction, I don't know much about keto. I hope you get smashing results though and enjoy your diet. Best of luck to you *hug

Bye the way, walking with that a ball? :D Excuse my ignorance but do you mean using balls like erm, ping pong type balls as a distractions in your hands or you are walking down the roads with like a football. The image in my head is funny *hysterical but if it works for you, then why care what anyone else thinks, eh? :D*dance4 You go girl. *bravo

It’s not about being the best. It’s about being better than you were yesterday.

Shift the focus from what your body looks like to what it can do.

I only workout 3 hours per week and take a few walks, I guess that's not enough hence my back hurts occasionally. I wish to stretch every morning after I wakeup, and maybe lie down less.
The recommended daily amount of physical activity by professionals is 30 minutes a day, so you are doing superb!!

Keep it up @PrincessPure You're good fantastic:)

Oh yeah, I totally understand that. I wasn't recommending you do fast hun, intermittent fasting is eating at spaced out times often being debated on TV/sites here lol but nvm me lol I was just thinking out loud at 2.30am haha *shy face*
You're absolutely correct, missing meals isn't good for an anemic who is underweight *hug <3

Eat regularly and healthily and hopefully you'll be back to a normal weight and blood levels soon *hug 💕
