I was eating sugary things this morning, and my nephew said I'm going to get fatter until I die. Well, kids can put things pretty bluntly, but I do worry about that happening.

Wow 3 miles running *scaredwell done, you. That is great going. Keep it up. And I hope you enjoy the tour of your new gym :)

A gym at home? That sounds like a dream come true :D You must have great determination. That is gonna be a whole lot of fun for you plus yes, we all need a distraction like that in times like this. Amazing *hug

Yes, I have a little space in the garage for a 6x4 mat and some weights. I also have an elliptical and treadmill so I'm hoping to arrange it all in a way that I will use them more. It's a process, and it won't be fancy but should give me some space to do a few things when i'm feeling the need!

@Champagne about 2 cans a day before this. Am trying again to kill this habit. Thank you for the support.
Wow, you decreased it a lot, I'm sure that will help your sleep too in terms of less caffeine and be good for your overall health. Wishing you all the luck in the world at keeping this up, you will get there and this past year has shown the entire world we need to be our healthiest for the, just in case!! Proud x

That all sounds really positive, I'm sure the exercise should help reduce any stress you have too. Don't forget to add a T.V to the garage so keep you entertained whilst working out, well, that's that's something I'd do if I had gym space :D but go with whatever floats your good, you sound very ambitious, best of luck :)

I ran 3 miles this morning. No easy feat since I woke up at 2 and have been awake since.

I start Crossfit tonight. Haha OMG

GL at crossfit tonight, try and get a nap in first, don't stress it, you'll settle in, in no time *hug

Kids these days with their healthy school lunches and physical education programmes (much better than we had them lol) and they have the internet, they are smarter food wise and more health conscious than we were then :D So don't take it personally, just be glad your nephew has a good head on his shoulders :D*hug

Signing up as a long term project. Think I could do with the encouragement. For the last few months have been comfort eating and unable to do any exercise. Now I think I can finally start really small. Confession I have put on about 6kg in the last two months so now I weigh 100kg.
So as I'm mostly a sweet food eater I'm cutting it out. Will lessen what I eat sugary foods over the next two weeks and then stop.
Also want to start exercising again. I figure since it has been months and I'm recovering from surgery that I'm going to start dismally small. So on days when it isn't raining (yes autumn/fall here), I am going to start with just 500 meters about. Then I'll build it up slowly.
Feeling nervous and so I'm rambling.
Signing off 😂

*hug Good luck to you @Fleurise You'll definitely get lots of encouragement here.

Kudos to you for starting to cut out the sugary things, I think that is the best start *hug

Definitely give your body time to recover from your surgery hun so like you are doing keep it small distance then build it up. More power to you. 💝

I love your plan. So much better than going 0-60. It's thoughtful and I think you are doing your best not to overdo anything. That always makes activity harder. I run a lot, but I"m the slowest runner in my group. I've stayed that way for years because I want it to stay pleasurable (as pleasurable as running can be). Good luck!

My first day at Crossfit was good. It was just a one on one starter class (I have two more of those) before I'm able to join the main group. I did a lot of stuff I was semi-familiar with and felt pretty good about it, knowing I can probably hang with the regular class. I have some major mobility issues though (damaged rotator cuff and bad wrists), but they are already working on it for me. So, I'm excited.

All the best for you. Start as small and don't push yourself to the point that you give up on yourself. With few exceptions all things in life are a marathon, not a sprint. Good luck! :)

I did day 2 of Crossfit yesterday. Sore this morning! haha I ran 3 miles though at 6 am today, and so I feel OK. Day #3 of CF is tomorrow. It's my last day of training, then I can take a regular class, so I signed up for a Friday afternoon one with the coach who's been working with me. That way I know they know I do not know what I'm doing yet. :P Anyway, I'm enjoying it so far.

I've been alone for the past few months, so after moping for a bit I've picked up my old workout routine and tried to add more in. Ive also aimed to do it at least 5 times a week instead of whenever i feel like it and also having a few days where I go for a run. I usually do rope-skipping and then various kettlebell stuff. So far, havent lost any of my covid weight but today i was able to do nearly double the amount of kettlebell stuff i usually do and go for a run, so thats something!

Way to go @Just_a_guy

I'm proud of you for doing double the fitness regime than usual today :) You must be feeling great after it :)

Please keep it up and do yourself proud and reach your potential, never underestimate your abilities, that would be your biggest downfall *hug

I've lost 2st over the last couple of months. The first stone I lost in 2 weeks, I think through stress and heartache but it was a welcome side effect. The second stone was definitely helped by going out to work again. Intermittent fasting has always worked pretty well for me but when I'm at home all day I just don't have the willpower to stay out of the fridge. But when I'm at work I can't snack constantly and by time I get home the hunger pangs have gone so I can survive quite happily with just a 500 calorie dinner. So I'm doing this three days a week and just trying to be a bit more careful on the other four days.
