Are you over 60?

Wow. It is codified. That is so mean and hurtful
Well, I don't think they did it deliberately, but it's sort of implicit: You need young blood to innovate, while the fuddy-duddies tend to stick to their old ways. At least that's the stereotype, even if it's not really true in tech (it's the "old" folks who may actually innovate more, thanks to their knowledge and experience).

One of the worst parts of that attitude is although not always true with any generation is how people seem to me to be getting more entitled in behavior. Dual edge sword though I guess that cuts both ways. Businesses cut along the lines of employees are disposable while so many employees I have seen as years go by just want to show up and collect a paycheck even if they are just furniture.

Agreed, collaboration works best... assuming we get to keep our jobs! 😂 It's definitely true that we're entirely expendable (and this is even codified explicitly in the employment contract, which states that you can be fired at any time for any reason or no reason, except for reasons not allowed by law, but then you can still be fired for no reason).

we are worker bees. Aren’t we. No rights no privileges. Who in the heck made all these species and we all live the same developmental stages unless we are on the upper echelon of the pecking order.m?

Yes, we can only hope to get to the point of independence one day. Sadly, the way it works is that we'll have the most resources amassed when we're least able to use or enjoy them. But I'd gladly accept a bit of true freedom in the end...

I certainly felt like this in my job. Everything timed, measured, pressured. Like I am a widget forced to produce as much as possible.

Welcome to Elon Musk's Twitter! Except he calls it "hardcore," which is the glamorous take on it.

The thing is, I'm only a dung beetle rolling up balls of dung every day. What do I get for all my hard work? That's right, balls of dung.

Oh love videos oh ding beetles and their dung balls. The epitome of wiring and mundane work.

Yes, but those dung balls won't roll themselves up... just as work in a typical corporation won't do itself! One can only wish to leave the rat race and have some freedom towards the end, given how short this life is (well, at least unless you expect to live forever through technology and the singularity).

I searched for short films about love over 60. Only 5 films indicated. One was about an Alzheimer’s patient who does not recognize his wife. Two were about May December romances. Sighs. Not what a good library of choices.

I wish they focused on humankind love
I don't believe in humankind love. As long as there is enough food and water we can get along, but eventually we'll all just end up hitting each other with rocks. Having said that I don't believe in romantic love either, but I do believe in hotels... so yay! How am I? Fine. (well at least nobody's hitting me with a rock anyway)

Lol at the "we'll all just end up hitting each other with rocks."

I do believe in love for humankind. However there will always be that approximately 20 percent of people who are hostile or bullies or criminals, who make life worse for the rest of us. The challenge is to identify those people so that we can support their victims. Unfortunately they can be charming and manipulative.

You are blessed to not feel the pain of loneliness
