Wishing you all the best in your job search. Some organizations have lower membership fees for students or emerging professionals. Also had another thought, that many organizations have conferences that you can volunteer at and often then do not have to pay the registration fee. I am doing that this coming Saturday as thought would be a good way to begin to network etc. etc. Global Museum is a great resource and would imagine there are similar websites for writing as well where you are that may be helpful as well. Though easier said than done...try not to be discouraged as job hunting is one of the hardest things to do and takes persistence, patience, and time...that's my mantra at least. I've just started reading the What Color is Your Parachute book which am finding has some helpful advice as well. Sending you hugs.

Hope you have been finding helpful people/ organisations and that the future holds more positive things for you. I suspect I'm not allowed to offer more practical help otherwise I would - I'm also in the UK, with 4 young adult "kids" who have all had to face the job/ place to live conundrum, albeit without the unpleasant stepfather figure! It's not easy even without the negative millstone. Sending hugs

This is really nice of you but even though YOU are not a mad axe murderer, some random that you offer accommodation to online might be so in the interests of your safety please don't do this. Very very nice of you - but also a really really bad idea.

Isn't this the saddest thing ever ? It's not even that people don't want to help, but people have to be extra careful at all times. It is so sad. @Candle in the wind you are a treasure, may light shine your way. And thank you @Freya for keeping our mates safe
