Now wait a minute.
The idea was to scare them a bit not to terrorize those poor kids and leave them scarred for the rest of their life. *scared
That sounded funny because my grandpa was called Jerry or Gerly, and he used to get drunk and go on rants. He would kinda scare the neighborhood kids away, so that's not far off :D

@Gonz
I certainly sympathize with Gonz and his woes, because I used to take a med which had terrible Side-effects on me. I really believe that sometimes a cure can be worse than the disease! Sometimes.

The good news is that I got gradually weaned off the meds via cognitive therapy which includes meditating. Did you notice that there is a difference of only one letter between the words, medication and meditation. In my case I do better when I meditate instead of medicate. In the long run, meditating is better than meds because in meditation you use your own mind to cure yourself.

@Aurelia, yeah actually, a couple good ones: Klonopin three times a day in addition to the PRN Ativan I already have. Psychiatrist says she's more worried about what my anxiety levels are doing to my heart than the possibility of addiction and at this point I tend to agree.
Sorry, Gonzie. I missed this post before; just went back to read it now. Geez, I had no idea anxiety could actually trigger that. Everyone says how it's basically harmless. "You're not really dying. It just feels that way." I guess, strong emphasis on the phrase "basically harmless," eh? Shit, your anxiety levels really must be completely through the roof. And I thought mine was pretty fucking bad. It's a good thing your psychiatrist seems to be taking good care of you with the anxiety meds, at least. You keep taking those, and not just as needed, because you should really try to prevent the panic attacks from happening in the first place.

Feels like all I’ve been doing is seeing doctor after doctor after doctor. Apparently having a heart attack at 38 is kind of a big deal, who would have guessed?

here, lemme show you something:

View attachment 33497

these are all the new meds I’ve been prescribed over the last month. 14 of them. Some taken once a day, some twice, some three times, some as needed, some with food, some on an empty stomach, one I have to remember to dissolve under my tongue (as an aside, nitroglycerin has the same effects as amyl nitrite poppers, only longer lasting). It’s too goddamn much to keep track of, even with my old-person pill caddy.

got two more appointments tomorrow, then another next week. Probably have a dozen more prescriptions to keep track of before I’m done.
Praying for you

I think it's more like if you take poor enough care of yourself (shitty diet, physical inactivity, chainsmoking unfiltered cigarettes for years) to give yourself a heart condition, then the frequent panic attacks will only serve to exacerbate that condition.

But yeah, now it's "You're probably just having a panic attack, you'll probably be okay, it probably won't turn into anything worse." Which is... less than reassuring.

I think I'm gonna have "I told you this shit was stressing me out" carved into my tombstone.

Hey Gonz
Miss you in chat but not the time either. I get those attacks. Heart patients get them. Yes

Shit, check, check, and check. I guess I might be just as screwed one day.
You know, you're not wrong, actually. The only real difference between our lifestyles is that I've had a few more years to treat my body like a 90s rockstar treated a hotel room.

So let me serve the only useful purpose I might have left; as a warning. Do better than I did. Smoke less, move around more, eat food from all four food groups. If you're anything like me, you won't do any of this.
