You know, you're not wrong, actually. The only real difference between our lifestyles is that I've had a few more years to treat my body like a 90s rockstar treated a hotel room.

So let me serve the only useful purpose I might have left; as a warning. Do better than I did. Smoke less, move around more, eat food from all four food groups. If you're anything like me, you won't do any of this.
That 90s rockstar comment made my day. :P Problem with me, though, is that I can't actually eat all the food groups. I haven't touched a vegetable or fruit in quite a few years because of my Crohn's, not from lack of desire because I actually love to eat them. But as soon as I do, I end up in the hospital because I can't digest them properly. However, the lack of physical activity has been due to depression and lack of energy/motivation. I haven't left my house, really, in months. Maybe once or twice to go to the store. I'm hoping that once I get my degree, things will be different. I need to get a driver's license so I can have more options as far as finding a job, then go for a license in addiction counseling after my degree. Sometimes it's hard to even push myself to do schoolwork because I wake up some days and all I want to do is lay there and do absolutely nothing, except stare at my phone screen. But my theory is that as long as I do keep pushing forward, the more success I gain, the more my mental status should hopefully improve.

Having a purpose, something you're working toward, does more for your health and longevity than any ephemeral feelings of happiness.

jesus. Can you pllleeaassee try not to die? Seriously.
Sooooo... it just happened again. I was walking to the 7-11, or rather home from the 7-11, and it just hit me all of a sudden. Body drenched in cold sweat, world going grey and fuzzy around the edges, all of a sudden I could barely keep myself upright, much less keep walking. I sat down on a little wall and puked my guts out, then even sitting was too much. I had to fucking lay down on a random patch of grass and wait for it to pass and my strength to come back.

I’m out at 1:30 in the morning and my best option at that moment is to just lay down on the ground and wait and see whether I’m gonna die or not.

So I laid down on the grass and looked up at the sky for a solid 25-30 minutes, and then I felt strong enough to get up and walk the rest of the way home.

And then I ate the tuna sandwich and strawberry mochi and iced tea I went there to get in the first place while I typed this up.

I’m beginning to suspect that I might not be in the best of health.

Jesus, Gonz. Are you sure there's not something else wrong? Like maybe low levels of iron, vitamins, calcium, or what have you. Did they take blood from you and test everything? Because I have iron-deficiency anemia and my levels are a lot lower than they should be on a typical day. Because of that, I get tired extremely quickly when I do anything physical, like walking. And there have been times where I was in the middle of walking and I felt like I was going to pass out if I didn't sit down for a while. And aside from that, my calcium, potassium, magnesium, and Vitamin D and B12 are also lower than normal at times. So maybe make sure that it's not any of that?

Oh my God man... When do you see the doctor for fucks sake?
Did you call doctor to tell what just happened @Gonz ?

Shit, that's so scary. I'm sorry Gonz. I agree with Aurelia, I hope they're doing a bunch of blood tests to rule stuff like that out. I don't know what a stress test is, do they have you wear a heart monitor?
Sorry, just got a good 14 hour nap after all that. I’ve mentioned nearly passing out like this at random times to the doctor already, that’s when he suggested the stress test (which is where they hook you up tp a bunch of monitors and put you on a treadmill and raise the difficulty under controlled circumstances until things start to go wrong). I just didn’t think this would happen from something as simple as walking, since easy walks are part of the prescribed exercise regimen. I’m gonna stay closer to home and take it easy until that appointment. If the stress test doesn’t tell them anything, I’m sure they’ll keep looking. I know they did a lot of bloodwork at the hospital, I’m sure they’ll do more if this doesn’t give them any answers.

Yea quite scary. Yet no one around to check in on you when you were outside? Yea its 130 in the morning but people are still out and about
The patch of grass I laid down on on was an elementery school's lawn, right in the middle of a residential area. Not many people passing by, and those who did probably just thought I was homeless or something. You'd be surprised how quickly people can get their "not my problem" filters up when they see someone having trouble.

I've seen experiments done on this sort of thing. Unless you're dressed a certain way that makes it evident you're not homeless, people generally won't stop to help.

That's not surprising at all.

But it's not that big a deal in my particular case since there's not much anyone could have done anyway. I just needed to rest until my strength came back and trying to explain the situation over and over again to a slowly increasing crowd of people would have have just taken effort I needed to keep my breathing under control.

I had this exact thing happen in the hospital, shortly after the heart attack. All that happened was about twenty nurses and orderlies and doctors stood around me and attached extra monitoring devices to me and asked me a bunch of questions and observed me until it passed. But there was nothing they actually did, so what could anyone else have done? Call 911 and stick me with another multi-thousand dollar ambulance bill, all so that they could just look at me and wait 'til it passes and call my family and unneccessarily worry them?

I just need to take it easier than I thought I did until I see the cardio doc again.

Yeah, they were probably just waiting to see what happened, the hospital, that is. But people on the street, however, have no idea if you're passed out, hurt, or even alive while laying there and motherfuckers still don't stop to find out.

They did a small experiment on Brain Games about this. First, they had a guy in a suit laid out in the middle of a park where many people were walking. Literally, everyone stopped to ask if he was okay. Then they did the same thing with a guy that looked like he hadn't showered in a while, wearing disheveled clothing, and a paper bag in hand. Every single person walked right by him for about an hour straight. Turned out, they put a can of iced tea in that paper bag.
