I still remember what Comedian Jackie Gleason used to say about his favorite exercise: "Every morning as soon as I wake up, I do 20 push-ups. And then I do the other eye-lid."

I use to cycle everywhere in my hometown and even to work but since we moved back to the UK man years ago I gave that up because its quite dangerous here as they don't have bike lanes and living in the rural doesn't make it easier because the roads are to narrow . My dog and I walk a lot and on a beautiful Sunday morning like today I get up by the crack of dawn and put him on the long tracking lead and let him run over the fields. We go for miles and thats when I can switch off and clear my head.

Snowboarding but I don’t live in the mountains at present. In summer I do calisthenics that I learned the routines by following videos. Also kenpo which I learned some from a guy who we were in the same hospital. The idea is that everything including our bodies even the stuff in our cells are all in motion always. The easiest exercise is with a square on the ground, you practice your stance walking around it and can add left and right punch or side parry. To me it’s relaxing and gives me the same good clear feeling as snowboarding plus the benefit of self defense. When I was training every day a broom handle got knocked down at me from behind and my ears heard it and my body turned and parried it away without my brain having to think just from muscle memory. It is exercise you don’t need space or machines and it helps feeling secure.

Karate and Tai Chi. Although Tai Chi is not cardio the style I do is karate without the pushups. I started back with karate before the lockdown and probably have lost what cardio benefit I had from it. I do tai chi at night through Zoom but I can't really call it exercise - it is just moving around but the slower you do it the more strength training it is.

I also enjoy 😉 bending down to touch my toes AND tie-my-shoes (w/Gracie Muay Thai; which is a joke!!;)) . . . And when I’m feeling extra-ambitious “(gold-digger’ style, I might even stand back up all in the same move or motion. Which is to say at once, or simultaneously, or better yet; not concerted ly A/B/C... boys boys boys boys 👦 ii men __ (I dint know what I just said? But I said somethhnf somethhjg s I m e t h I b g —— me!:)

The exercise bike is my favorite. I like that I can push myself or not and can park my ass while pedaling and watching TV and movies on the PC set up I have. With a 32" screen it does make the time go faster and even across the room that monitor is larger than the TV sets I grew up watching. Least favorite is the treadmill which doesn't get much use. Not a bad treadmill but every exerciser I got is manual so it is not one of those room filling ones that is 6 foot long and 4 feet wide on the tread, this one is much smaller so the movements are not a walking but more like wiping your feet on a welcome mat. Not bad on the legs but will give craps in the hips.
