This is my life pretty much. I watched the doco about two years ago. Surely they go mad... it isn’t healthy. I know it from first hand experience

Well if you are not working going to school and not socializing with others and just staying in a single room for long periods of course you would go mad i know i myself have had episodes from being like this for so long.
